Should the fans have expectations?

Should the fans dictate what and how the story should run or should we just be the silent spectators?
We do not write the story, we are "fans" only because we have liked the story so far. If we do not enjoy it anymore we cease to be fans or it is not like that?
But as fans, we have invested so much time and so much passion goes into our liking a show because we really relate that to our lives in some way or the other. So if the show dithers to uncertain turns or takes a turn into a territory which we don't like, our instincts push us to speak out, vent our frustrations and that is when we get into so much ranting and bashing. Should we not have this right?
What are your thoughts?

generally its only natural that we have expectation, but apparently we are not supposed to have it ---- but the second condition leads to frustration in short term, long term effect would be that we fast forward the show or stop watching all together.

who looses - mostly the show, but somewhere the fans loose too because they could not find a proper processing and end of their favorite story.

Yes , we do have a right to express our opinions. Actually daily soaps do not have a fixed story line. It is not as if the entire story is fixed first and then made into a serial which would be the case if a serial was made on a novel. Only the main plot i think is fixed. SO writers make changes along the line depending on how the response from viewers is.
So we do have a right to express if we think things being shown are very illogical or too negative etc. Every show has negative characters who manage to hoodwink every one for some time. But as is our belief , the truth always comes out. Satyamev jayate is what we indians believe. So evil has to meet its demise.
and truth shud prevail.
This is my view.

I think what we ought to do as fans is to take anything they throw at us. It however is our choice if we want to watch the show anymore or not. The Indian shows are always going to be cliched:
1. If a girl is engaged and the engagement is broken, it is considered a catastrophe. Why? Because the society thinks so.
2. It is taboo to divorce or break a relationship. It never should happen. Why not?
3. An extra marital affair is considered awful. It can sometimes iron out issues in peoples' lives, so why not?
4. Husband is like God. Which age are we in?
5. If an unmarried girl is in love, the family is not only shocked but hurt. Why? How?
I mean the list could go on...but I guess this is all for the masses. The fans who thrive on logic are the worst sufferers because they like to watch these shows but are traumatized with these archaic social isssues that are given prominence to these shows. And such fans always question it. But such fans fail to realize that this is for the appreciation of the masses whose intellectual capabilities are hugely skewed. The writers are quite in a dilemma because they have to please a general crowd with varying tolerance level for different issues.
Like take IPKKND for example, there could be conservative people who think Dadi is absolutely correct, that Shyam should be accepted because he is after all the husband. But taken from a libertarian's pov this would amount to aid a criminal.

Great point, I always wondered how do they plan, but I think it is very essential that CVs should plan and say, fine, here we have a story that will or can run for 1.5 yrs without any stretching and dragging and if at the end of 3months the TRPs are high then we can continue to write more or make some changes. They should have more substantial script than just having a concept.
So if the comments from a lot of fans is negative, then probably that should be noted by the CVs.
Do you think CVs scan all the threads, just to be curious as to how the response to their show is ?

of course we should have expectations and the right to voice out if the show is taking the turn for the worst but some people are abusing it and crossing their limits.

True, but what you may call crossing limits may be not be the limit for the other.
Actually IPKKND was liked by so many. Let's not forget it has touched a lot of hearts. And now it is doing the opposite of just that, so you can imagine what a rancour this could cause.
I really hope CVs are reading these posts. I really do!
