I think this more refers to a future clause of where Kushi might be seen fighting for her life in hospital.

Arnav would be forced to believe in god to save Kushi, as there might be no other scope for her survival.

So, its like a metaphor in a way, at least I hope it just sticks to that alone & doesn't cross any other boundary leaving me in tears.
