First of all - I applaud you for making this topic with such clarity and brilliant construction of points...
Okay - I agree with everything you said. I don't get it either when people post straightaway on their stories that 'they don't accept buddies with zero posts' or something like 'I have added a lot of newbies and I'm not getting satisfied with the response' etc etc etc. Are they at a fault that their I-F status shows them as 'newbies'? I think to be a newbie is cuttteee... You are supposed to pamper them! You know, like babies! But this treatment is abominable! No wonder the Forum is all going thandaaa these days! Well - the so-called senior members, veterans, dazzlers, sizzlers etc etc etc are busy in their lives and thanks to the heart-felt welcome some give our newbies, they also lose the will to keep the Forum going! *sigh! This is such a distressing situation...
Then about the posts on VMs, reactions to episodes... I guess there was another topic on similar lines made by Zara last week. She was specific about the writers in the Forums in that. But after reading the post, it dawned on me that its the lament every TM is singing now-a-days! The number of views keep piling on - the ladder keeps on pushing the topic behind - and the number of comments stay in single digit! W.O.W... This isn't the IPKKND Forum I joined!
Another point made so aptly by you - the number of comments on profiles and articles. I agree that majority of the population of IPKKND Forum are females and their affection towards Barun is totally justified. But I don't get it why the cold shoulder towards the rest of the cast?! I know 'cold shoulder' seems a bit harsh for a word here, but that is what it is. The whooping dip in the comments from Barun's to Sanaya's to Akshay's is disheartening! Imagine - what is none of them were a part of the show. Imagine - if IPKKND was a one-man show by Barun Sobti. I am a die-hard fan of Barun, but I know the show wouldn't have been so successful without the rest of the cast. I make it a point to comment on everything that comes on TB. I don't like or support such discrimination between the brilliantly talented ensemble for my show!
Also, the point to you made about the changing reactions in the Forums about a scene or episode. That was a sharp observation, I must say. Sometimes, when such deviating - or allow me to say - destructively criticizing topics come up, most of the people out here forget about the previous thread and dive into these controversies. Tell me - how does it matter if they didn't kiss in real? WHY would they kiss in real? What's wrong if there was something wrong in engagement sequence? What is everybody's problem if Barun used or didn't use his own ring? Is it a natural calamity if Barun took his ring off for a single god-damned shot - which incidently looked beautiful on screen?
The wind blows and the mood in the Forums swings... Which is really very sad... And I wonder - why even such posts which demand 'the old Forum back' go unnoticed. Don't people miss the old, happier, less-stressful times?
A spot-on, bang-on, revolutionary post! I wish people read it, understand it and take it in the right way...
