Oh Christ!! I am SO glad someone else noticed it too! Yes, off late his hugs and touch have become too mechanical to the point that it looks SO evident that he is acting. The sizzle has gone down but I guess it's not about him being married or anything. His last show had some really intimate scenes minus the sizzle though, but he can really do them. (fine he was not married then but surely very much committed.)
It's my opinion which can be wrong but I think it's to do with his bonding with Sanaya. I don't know why I feel that they are scared of their sizzling chemistry. No matter how much committed they are to their respective partners, no body is a saint!! I am not maligning them but just stating a fact. MAY BE they don't want to ruin their friendship which can get into trouble given their on screen chemistry. So they both are just being defensive. I know they are professionals but after a point an acting role isn't worth messing their personal lives. I could be wrong too but this is what I feel. And I believe the change in directorial team (Lalit Mohan being off) also matters. Directors really bring out the best of actors.
I hope they really get the sizzle back because IPK is ALL about intensity of emotions of all kinds.
The point you have made about their bonding has crossed my mind too. Like you said, it's even more so considering the fact that they have become such a popular pair. I mean it's our speculation, but I must admit that you have made a valid point here. I have always felt that Sanaya underplays her friendship with Barun in her solo interviews. She seems to be a lot more closer to him in the sbs/sbb segments than she claims in her interviews. Contrary to her statements, her impulsive actions and reactions in Barun's presence indicate that she's very fond of and close to Barun. However, this is not to say that she loves him or acts immorally. That's just a natural human instinct. I request that no one interprets this in a wrong way. For instance, I am extremely fond of one of my professors, but just the fact that he is happily married with kids bars me from fantasizing marrying him. It just doesn't cross my mind despite of how I perceive him. Nevertheless, there's no doubt that how I feel towards him is not how I feel towards any other professor. And yes, had he not been married, I would have most likely fantasized living with him. The same is true for Barun. He makes sure to stress the point that Sanaya is only a good costar. On the other hand, Daljeet, for instance, has no reservations in expressing her profound fondness for Barun. And that's because audience will never link them romantically. I'm sure, if not more, Sanaya is as much fond of Barun as Daljeet seems to be, yet the former hesitates to acknowledge it as openly as Daljeet. Also, one of my IF friends once said to me that she finds it weird how Barun stresses on loving his wife whenever given the chance. It's as if he wants to remind himself that he loves her. She could be wrong, but she certainly has a point. I never brought this up because I felt that me and a few of my friends were the only ones who felt this way, but now since you talked about it, I had to share what I felt.
