Arnav's father fell in love with Khushi's mother.
Knowing this, Arnav's mother comitted suicide on the very night that Anjali was getting married.
Nobody saw "that woman" (ie Khushi's mother) except Dadiji and because Khushi resembles her mother a lot, she has taken to hating her right away.
It however seems a mystery about Khushi's mother. Either she got killed or died, but the truth that we know about Khushi's mother (that she died in an accident) is a covered up story, covered none other than Buaji or Garima.
This means that Buaji, Garima and her husband know Dadiji. Things will start showing up if and when these people meet.
Shyam could also have a hand in this, as he could have told Dadiji about Khushi or showed a photo or something...
