Chaar Singham😃
Did ya miss me guys...well I hope so😆😆... nahi bhi kiya to Sannu Ki😆😆...But anyways thanks...for making ASR say "For a change sach bolte hain"...The "Dil" (For me) in this serial spoke yet again and how!!...So in the same vein some sach from my side too...mera laptop pe mera typing phree😆😆...so a super longgg post😆😆
a) Sach kya hai?
The beauty of this serial, when it gets it right is that its leads are in a way mirror images of each other...to me both equally wrong and equally right ..thats is if there is indeed a definition of wrong or right when it comes to life😳😳...both are flawed, both seeking love, hope and peace...and both on the verge of loosing every thing they have. Both suffer from massive insecurities, both have egos and both play around with a variety of lives...Anjali and Payash being a case in point.
Its just their style of playing around that is different. One plays around using his money and charm, the other plays around assuming her higher moral ground and a comic stance...Both forgetting that lives and emotions are not to be played around with.
b) Contract marriage, love...committment
I never liked the fake marriage idea ...It is cheap, gimmicky and a convenient reason to show the leads in a variety of Rabba Ves...In reality it is an insult not just of the institution of marriage but also of love and committment...two words that don't need a stamp of marriage😳
I understandthe need for thrills and TRPs...but is this the soch nayi!!...I remember my post when I criticised ASR for dragging Khushi and getting her married (or whatever you call it)...but at the same time the peron who allows an injustice is perhaps as responsible, if not guilty, as the person who inflicts it.
Khushi says she did that for Payash...so did she consider what may happen of Payash now that she has left RM...or is this like a warranty certificate😆...first 6 months I will listen, then Payash doesnt matter😆...Now the latest reason is Di...
Sure ASR did not consider how badly he is messing up with Khushi's life when he forcibly married her...but in the same vein has Khushi considered where her past actions and now present actions will lead the Guptas. Its very easy to say he coerced her and didnt give her a chance...No, there is always a chance to walk out😳..for a 23 yer old...at the first available instance ...if that particular earlier moment was over bearing then take the chance later.
Now she is shown as taking the chance with a convenient sacrifice...so what is the bottom line here. Is it that for her own sake and for shouting back at Shyam she believes in the marriage to ASR..but for "Di ke liye sacrifice" she does not.😆😆
c) A lie that saves lives is better than truth...but a repeated web of lies isnt...so then why is misunderstanding a crime
Lie about the marriage, lie about leaving RM, now lie about divorce...what will it achieve??...and who is manipulating the lives of not just herself (which she is entitled to) but also of her family...Why all these lies?...to show comic scenes where Khushi hates Laad Governer ...and quickly two episodes later there is that familiar "tee nee nee nee" sad music track...and she loves ASR and is sacrificing.
And this is a person who believes in God😆😆...So then she should know that for all of us there is only one DM Embarrassed...so perhaps it is not for us mere humans to pretend that we can decide the lives and fates of othersEmbarrassed...
And while we are on the subject of lies, there is no remorse of holding the Shyam truth initially from the Raizadas and Anjali...because again, thanks to convenient scripting that is shown as sacrifice for ...yup... family😃😆😆😆
So manipulation and refusal to accept responsibility is sacrifice...but when a person accepts responsibility of his ill actions and says he made a mistake to misunderstand the love of his life... the script does not even consider him human enough to err😆😆
d) Kisi ka khoon khoon ...kisi ka khoon paani
I have never understood what an Anti hero is...anti means the unlike, opposite...so then he is a villian isnt it...but if yes then discard him completely at some time and move on!!
Yes ASR has erred often in treating Khushi, but to me so has Khushi...ASR makes her pack gifts "and that makes him a vile horrid man"...Khushi makes him take a soap covered bath without water...and then publicly shames his right to dignity by making him parade semi nude, "but that makes her action cute and comic"😆😆. ASR ask her to fulfill conditions, "of course he is an abuser", Khushi makes him repair a variety of machinery, eat a variety of low calorie food, struggle to get into a loo...but she is Khushi so "oh how cute she is abused na so she is trying to get back". ASR calls her TV, "what a venom filled mouth", Khushi calls him Swamiji with contempt..."but thats just cute love!!"...ASR abuses her in the open so "he is a MCP", Khushi goes to his office and embarresses him...time and again, sometimes the swami, sometimes the dabba, sometings the shouting...but again she is a woman, how can she ever be wrong..."hail Naari shakti"😆😆
When ASR is out of line...flog him...when Khushi is out of line...flog the script😃...Jai Ho!!...I get the point Chaar Singham that this serial will always be about a woman winning...what about humanity winning??...
And no I am not talking about ASR here...If ASR is your anti hero...that means a negative character...and you want to show Khushi winning,...then let her win where it matters...by discarding him for good and not because of Kabhi Payash, Kabhi Di, Kabhi Family. That is a soch nahi...not these Tom and Jerry games, which may satisfy an urge to flog ASR, but when you see it objectively is joked upon by Khushi's characterisation istelf in going time and again back to him.
e) Raavan har saal aata hai aur jal bhi jaata hai
What is so vile in ASR which was not vile in the first two months of this serial?...This is the same ASR who when he was Khushi's boss and pinned her against a wall...but that was hot passion!!😆😆...(when in reality it is workplace harrassment!)...This is the same ASR who after almost kissing her and getting significantly aroused himself...went and announced an engagement with La...but we thought that was the most passionate Jaadu hai scene ever. 😆...😆This is the same ASR who when he decided to brutally drag Khushi and got married to her...we thought it was a build up to a great marriage love story. This is the same ASR who when he pushed, shoved, muscled his way to Khushi all the time...we thought this was the best chemistry ever...whats the word...ya right Passion😆😆😆
So today when he is giving a few more paper thin dhamkis, what is different??...he is still the same ASR, if the script would care to consider😳
I am not defending ASR...and he is not my definition of an ideal man😳...But then it comes back to the drawing board and one has to be fair...The script wants to use the same ASR to serenade and moon over in assorted fantasies when things are for TRP led passion...and conveniently turn and make him an abuser time and again😆😆
f) "Sita bhi yahaan badnaam hui" is poignant and hard hitting because she was Sita
Khushi is conveniently scripted as bechari...conveniently scripted as just wanting to have fun...conveniently scripted as sacrificing...then if thats the noble idea of this script whats there to compain when Khushi herself does not take her life seriously and respectfully.😆😆
This is the same Khushi who after having been thrown out of the first floor of an office chose to work in the same house (no self respect)...This is the same Khushi who after having been told a gazillion times that she is a gold digger, went back to the man and his family...(again no self respect)...This is the same Khushi...who after being aroused and left to dry out by the poolside...chose to not utilise the time to re-skill or be independant but who thought it fit enough to give cooking and stitching lessons to the same man's girlfriend😕...(no attept and recognising ones own dignity) And this is the same Khushi who after having been cheated by a man, still chose to remain silent only to be dragged like a hopeless goat or cattle and got married and is now trying to honor it😕...or wait not honor it😕
So why add convenient scripting to show her as being her being abused??😳😳...when two days later she is going to brush it off eating gol gappes and hurray...for the cause of the Rabba Ves go back to the same man😆😆
I am a woman and if there is something my family thought me it was Dignity of being a person, value of education and the ability to stand up for yourself. One who chooses to tolerate injustice and abuse is as flawed as one who decides to inflict injustice and abuse😳
Again I have always wanted and highlighted that Khushi should live for herself, be a girl who respects herself...but no...the script seems to think that showing her do all of the above...counts for great passion and being an ideal lover and wife
G) Some introspection here...
Chaar Singham, its your story take it the way you want
But if this is a love story...then there have to be three critical things here...(1) Love by being with and supporting each other, (2) Both respecting the relationship...and not make turnarounds for comedy or drama or to bring villians back and (3) A "Thehraav" ...a stability, having people in love who connect...like they did by the poolside after the Shyam revelation
And if this is not a love story but a story about a women's right then it needs two things:
1. Khushi should lead an independent decent life away from Shyam and ASR
2. Anjali should lead an independent decent life away from Shyam...and not perennially depending on ASR
The sach here is that showing the above requires guts and belief in your product...No Guts ...No Glory😳

Res-

And the crow bites...arre jhooth wala kauva!!😆 The last 3.42 minutes were brilliant...and brilliantly performed.
However, in this case, however, glee shall bite with her mote mote aansoon...and hence, she will be referred to as gleeKAUVAwat. 😆

But coming back to your post...

First sach - Barun was stellar. He packed in snark, smirk, sly, sarcasm, exasperation, anger, pain, anguish, hurt, and everything in between in 22 minutes. There is no bigger sach than this today...and i want to do this sach ka saamna every day.😆
Sanaya..portrayed her "my cat is out of the bag" fantastically. The web of lies (despite her good and sacrificial intentions) was biting her where it hurt the most...her heart. Cuz her love (read ASR) was hurting. Khushi needs to know that she is dragging him down with her as well. It is not just sacrificing her happiness, it is sacrificing both of theirs.

Second sach - He wasn't bullying her into coming back to him (i pride myself for always maintaining that), he was pushing her in a corner so that they could have this "contract" conversation.

Third sach - It was never about the money

Fourth sach - glee's aansoon are sharper than her pout

Fifth sach - They need to bring the resignation waali khushi back who fights for the right things. The tug of war between the SP heroine and Gul's vision is putting undue pressure on the thread (read tracks/script) that holds this "love" story together.

Sixth Sach - We wouldn't be here but for SaRun.

Now for the CVs --

1) Are we done with the idhar udhar ki baatein vagera vagera? Cuz I don't want to pour my heart out commending the brilliance of the last 3.42 minutes only for you slap and stick some comedy on my face.

2) Is a wedding absolutely necessary for TRPs? (If it is, my thoughts are the same as momma1128's a few comments down). I think we did fairly well "until" the marriage happened and after the yo-yo on the TRP charts has been directly proportional to the yo-yo ness in the script.

3) If the TRPs are falling, beware of the remote. Please know, this advice is totally from the well wisher wants to do Sach no 1 & 6 ka saamna every single day.

4) Please follow your original vision, and the TRPs will follow.

JW...I ditto your post...so sorry to go off on a tangent.

JW first off its such a pleasure to read your post again. I loved it, seedhi sachi baat.

What is truth? Everyone has their own version of truth. Sachi. 😊
For me today the best part was the conversation they had...I was waiting for this for so long, taras gayi thi. Just for that I am glad that I am still watching this show, it feels good. 😆
Contract marriage has been done to death on desi shows...It was a disppointment indeed when they took that route. I was not expecting it at all, chalo jo karna tha kar diya. But once the deed was done, at least they could have avoided the toingness of this. When they say nayi soch and feed us the same old, where does the sach go?
As for Khushi, I think they really need to go back and look at what they started with and what they have done to her. Its not even funny anymore.
Should truth and lie be as clear as black and white? Unfortunately they are not always that way, sometimes they are just grey and we all know that, "white lies" and other shades or whatever color you want to call them, have been abused in a way I have never seen before on this show. I don't want to get into the morals of right and wrong, in our our guts we all know that anyway.
I just wish CVs were using their craetivity in more creative ways.
ASR was always ASR, most consistently and lovingly flawed character, he is indeed the dil of this show, was and will be.
Barun was spectacular today, all the way. Sanaya did well too.
I hope you will post more often JW, missed ya!!!

res cuz I am gonna like it 😉

Edit - see I like it

I have had it quite honestly and although I loved the last bit where finally we are getting to a point where things are out in the open, the consistently inconsistent writing and emotional yo you effects are getting old.

I do like ASR because of all the characters his has been the most consistent (despite asking secretaries to give out quid pro quo offers and Sethi Bros due diligence gaffe not withstanding), his growth as been unfolding and more and more layers are peeled and explained. (of course, that doesn't mean he is the man of my dreams personality wise - but Barun Sobti as ASR is pretty spectacular - digression alert - I feel for this man because of how Barun makes him live).

These are the points which infuriate me -
1) Contract marriage for 6 months is a nice trick to get another wedding. These are not games. the whole institution of marriage is made a mockery of for TRPs. Great. I never knew walking out of a marriage would result in such gut busting (NOT) comedy. How does it even go to there from silent conversations of soulmates. How did it take this turn? Oh yes, contract marriage forced down the audiences throat after admissions of soulmates because we need a TRP wedding, because without a band baja baraat marriage cannot be sanctified.

2) Khushi Kumari Gupta does not show self respect when it comes to the time when she needs to show it. She balloons her ego/self respect/pride whatever when she is challenged by ASR partcularly about money (a real hot button topic with her) but I have seen this character get her ire up more because of a happy birthday than being called the reason for Shyam's wandering eye, being hit on in a house with her jijaji and never confiding in anyone, going back and playing charades with ASR after he ripped her heart out on diwali and now leaving the house not because he threw the contract in her face again but for Di. If KKG does not show gumption for herself and the writers do it over and over again having her stand up for everyone else but herself when she needs to, I can not very well go on and think her to be a trailblazer for change. This is how she is. She fell in love with ASR despite all of the "crimes" against her, so if miya biwi raazi, who am I. My real problem is when they package it as self sacrifice and try to sell it off as self righteous bashan either in front of DM or Payal or whomever. Seems a little hypocritical if you ask me but then again, I drool what do I know.

The feelings are there and short lived. Then somehow some way, the tracks are derailed into nonsensical gibberish and ludicrous situations, characters are forced to behave in ways that don't make any sense based on their previous experiences and we collectively scratch our heads and say what the? It is a love story where there have been some deep conversations. They lost the connection when the pretended like those never happened. It's time for the truth because I can't take anymore levity about marriages ending and hearts breaking, while pregnant delusional sisters are plotting to meet their murdering husbands while mourning the loss of her priority in her brother's life. Did that last bit sound like a comedy?? yeah, that's why they've lost it.

Awesome post JW 👏 👏 The script not at fault, but the channel which has glorified all the acts of its heroines since the daily soap era began. The only saving grace with IPK is that the Hero or Antihero as some may like to call him, has been shown a real human, somebody we can relate to & is not sidelined as only a bhai, pati or damaad as is the fate of male leads in most of the other shows.
