IP REDUX; Report Card !!! - Page 2

I didn't write for two days now .. But have been waiting eagerly to write back here.. As I had some important mythological stories to tell... One tale which is familiar and another tale which is not so familiar but very relevant in context to IPK ...as ppl would tell u the tale that is most relevant here is the tale of shishupal- Krishna or draupadi vastrapharana.. But one more relevant Story that I bring u here is the our own DM story where shiv tells Parvathy the meaning of love...so we will connec these stories with our main plot and see how well our plot reflects our Indian ethos and deep rooted believes..

Shishupal was the paternal cousin of Krishna born with an abnormality..the three eyes and four arms along with three faces...his mother delivered him with lot of problems and when she saw hhis appearance.. Decided to kill him.. An oracle 's voice appeared out of nowhere and told her not to kill the child as his defects would disappear the moment the person who is his nemesis touched him.. His mother Mahasamaradij( vasudev's sister) would make all her visitors and attendants touch the child in the hope that one day the identity of his nemesis would come to light.. But it didn't happen very soon..but the unscheduled visit of Krishna and the touch of his golden hand relieved the child of his extra fittings.. Shishupal's mother realising that her nephew would kill her beloved son..asked him for a boon.. Begged him for mercy.. Krishna , the merciful lord allowed his human cousin 100 transgressions..the seed of problems between sishupal and Krishna was planted here...

As shishupal grew up, his hatred towards Krishna grew in equal proposition..shishupal started making the enemies of Krishna his friends and his tirade against him grew leaps and bounds ... By encouraging jarasandha (another Krishna hater) to advance his forces towards mathura to conquer and bring Krishna to his knees... Jarasandha couldn't succeed even after 17 attempts...though the nefarious activities against Krishna continued , the break point on their relationship came when Krishna eloped with Rukmini,the intended bride of shishupal .Rukmi ,the brother of Rukmini had fixed her marriage along with shishupal ( his bosom friend) when he knew that Rukmini's affections lay with Krishna. She refused to marry shishupal and pleaded to the lord to come to her rescue through a letter by her teacher's hand expressing her love.. Rukmi knowing that a missive had been sent locked Rukmini and put her under barriers...Krishna couldn't refuse help to a damsel in distress 's loving call.. So carried Rukmini away from her own kingdom to his and made her his bride.. This in short is about Rukmini and krishna's love story ..This incident along with krishna's strategy to shift the yadava clan 's capital to Dwarka(island capital) after the incessant jarasandha's attacks made shishupal more envious .. He started telling people about the supposed cowardice of Krishna about facing his enemy ..

All the attacks on his person and his characters was borne by Krishna with fortitude due to the promise he had given his aunty..It is said that every evil has its day of judgement..so did Shishupal's vendetta against krishna..on the day of Rajasuya yagna conducted by the pandavas to celebrate the formation of their capital indraprastha.. Shishupal was invited along with the other kings and the Brahmanas to grace the yagna..every yagna selects its guest of honour among the attendees ,the selection done by voting helps the host king to honour the most revered among them..Bhishma suggested krishna's name for this honour..majority of them applauded the suggestion but there was vehement opposition too from a minority lead by shishupal ..The elders of the court tried to reason with and cajole shishupal to get his agreement on this matter.. But in vain.. Arjuna was very upset at this slur to Krishna's honour. He decided to challenge shishupal to a battle but to be dissuaded by krishna into staying calm.. Calm it was.. But a calm before a storm..shishupal took this as a victory for his intentions .. He started bad mouthing bhishma first calling him impotent et al.. This added fuel to arjuna's anger to be again pacified by Krishna. Emboldened by this surprise silence.. Sishupal started his verbal tirade against Krishna , attacking his character, his bravery, his supposed cowardice , his weakness for women,then went to his parents, his family , his upbringing in a cowherd's house .. It went on and on ..till it finally reached a stage where the tirade started against Rukmini too..Krishna was smiling benignly through the entire drama with patience ..

The entire Mahasabha watching the proceedings with dismay as they were not coherent with the working of krishna's mind..they were wondering at krishna's stoic silence and Shishupal's damaging tirade.. What was Krishna doing here? He was basically counting number of attacks.. The last few of them were completely unacceptable ones about krishna's relationship with his wife..the moment the tirade reached its 100 count..the sudrashan chakra appeared out of thin air .. The sudrashan chakra which was bidding it's time for the call of its master.. Responded to krishna's command.. Flew past the very people he was insulted in front off the Mahasabha to finds its victim's head to slew..that is sishupal 's head..this brought an end to Shishupal's tyranny and krishna's patience to insults against his person ..

Shyam, the pampered son of the family; the husband who had been put on a pedestal that us equal to a god; a person who had been considered as a father figure by the brother of his bride is nothing but a mere player and a liar. He has violated trust of two families and of his wife. He had been dishonest about his crimes and had committed sins which have no forgiveness.

Khushi, a naive, innocent and orphaned girl who never learned to live for herself. She brings along light with herself and possesses an unbelievable amount of zest for life. She believes in goodness and honesty; a girl who never learned to lie even for a benefit of it. Life throws the cruel realities on her face, yet she still stands strong!!

An episode filled with dn intense pacing of sequences, where truth has been unleashed and the judgement is near; and today wasn't the final judgement, today was just the beginning.

A girl that influences others with her spirit of happiness is stuck today in a maze that questions her very foundation; the questions the means if her existence.
Khushi had dished out the entire truth along with clarification provided by NK, Payal and Mami. A girl standing in a situation where people are asking whether to believe her or not; where truth itself is bring questioned but truth doesn't need evidence. Truth itself is the biggest evidence however we are at that level of the game where we asked whether to proceed or not! Wether we would be able to stand firmly on the next level or not?

Take a look at the irony; we have two people throwing accusations at each other. Two people who have easily won trust of the family and from between them we have to decide the winner for honesty. The situation that has been cradled up so far questions both the people but only the one rising would be the righteous one.

Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life - Steve Jobs

Trust doesn't build up by itself but its based on the conclusion of your deeds and dealings with that one person. It is fragile like crystal and it can be crumbled like paper so that whenever it's ripped apart or broken into pieces, it never stays the same. The scars of being damaged are visible throughout.

The endless struggle to overcome the hurdle of misunderstandings had taken both, Arnav and Khushi towards a new level of understanding, smoothing out the layers of broken hearts with a new profound trust. After being thrown under the shackles of accusation of being a gold digger and characterless woman, Khushi pleads Arnav because even though it's just a game, the game had broken her apart once again. The plead for the call of help. She knew that it isn't her who needs immediate support bu Anjali and therefore, nor once did she call for Arnav's help before. Arnav could have been her aid from the point she started to unfold the truth, because who else is the witness to all the truth do far expect him!?!

"aap tou hamein jantein hain na, tou hamare ankhoon mein dekhheye aur bataye ke hum sach Bol rahe hain ya jhoot!"
What would provoke her to utter such precise words which reflect duality! She was weak and broken, worn down from fighting and keeping up. Words that ask him to take over and finally, show the world that does he have enough faith in her or not!

On my interpretation on Wednesday, I stated that Arnav has used Shyam's knowledge of lack of trust between them. That had what happened today too. Shyam had been immensely proud of the knowledge he possess; but that had come unexpected. Tants posted a picture of Arnav's fist curled into a punch, with a full view of Khushi and half of Shyam's back on Monday. She stated that Arnav will strike at the most unexpected moment! That has what happened. Arnav proceeds towards Khushi with a grim expression and a firmly set jaw. Till that specific moment, Shyam believed Arnav to be against Khushi as well because he has been darned sure that the seeds of doubt he had planted in Arnav's mind are still growing but little does he know that truth resurfaces with time again and again!


Two slaps; the first was unexpected let done the second one. Shyam Monhar Jha had today failed once again brewing lies between a relationship of love instead he had helped a lot in strengthening the trust both, Arnav and Khushi have on each other!

Injuries may be forgiven, but not forgotten - Ancient Greek Fables

Anjali isn't weak. She is stronger than she had let others see herself. Her weakness is her strength and she has used it to a great extent. She likes being the one in control and have others checked around her.

Yesterday, Anjali brought up her hand straight at Shyam quietening him. The Devi Mayyain always have one if her hand in that position, giving forgiveness and blessing the one in front of her. Anjali will grant forgiveness to Shyam. The longingness in her eyes and body language for her husband was visible throughout and there'll come a time when Anjali will give Shyam his last chance. The last of the last chance but Anjali won't be the one to forget what Shyam had five to her trust that easily.

Confrontation: Today the episode continued with the accusations and countering of them between Khushi and Shyam. Shyam is trying to manipulate situations and is convincing the entire family that Khushi was after him, and to maintain the family dignity, he had to sign the divorce papers. Payal steps in to defend Khushi and tells the truth about how Shyam was a paying guest in Buaji's house, hid the truth about his marriage and got engaged to Khushi. Once again Shyam asks for proof of engagement pictures of which there are none i.e. no report card. Payal and Khushi tell Di that they did not disclose the details to protect her and also they didn't want the raizada's to suffer. When they came to know the truth about shyam, they kicked him out of the house.

Shyam's ego is being boosted more and more as he's able to shut everyone up on the lack of proof. He tries to put the blame on the gupta sisters saying they are from a lower class family and it's only natural for them aspire to get into rich families. He also says when Khushi's plans to attract him failed, the two sisters turned their eyes on the Raizada family and they were now after the rich brothers.

Khushi says that she hates Shyam. His immediate question to her is, why was she coming on to him and did she or didn't she say she'd ruin her husband. In her defense Khushi says she did all this to get close to shyam and find out the details of the kidnap from him. In this NK supports her. However Shyam once again twists her words saying she did all this for her own gain and she's a fallen woman.

Khushi then appeals to the entire family and then to Arnav that she did it for the family and though she knows she has no proof (no report card once again) she's telling the truth. She pleads with arnav to look into her eyes and decide whether she's lying or telling the truth.

ASR then walks towards them and slaps Shyam twice, one for lying and cheating his Di and one for besmirching his wife, the two most important people in his life. He then tells Shyam to get out of the house. When Shyam tries to talk to his Di, Arnav stops him saying he'll not allow him anywhere near his sister and drags him by the collar out of the house, though Akash tries to stop him.

Draupadi Vastrapaharan: The last part of the scene where Khushi is asking for Arnav's help reminded me of Draupadi Vastrapaharan, where Khushi is Draupadi and ASR is Lord Krishna. Draupadi is dragged into the royal court and insulted in many ways; if she has 5 husbands, why not some more etc. Throughout this, Draupadi is repeatedly making appeals to all in the royal court asking for justice and there is no response from anybody. The Kauravas insult her and Duryodhan gestures his thigh asking her to sit on it. Later, at his brother's instigation Dussashan disrobes her. She holds on to her saree and appeals to one and all to help her, but to no avail. Even the greatest warriors, even the most truthful and wise, all bend down their heads as they are ashamed of the incident and at being unable to help her. When she doesn't have the strength anymore to help herself, as a last resort she appeals to Lord Krishna. Does he come right away to help her? No. She is crying and holding on to her saree and appealing. Still no response from the lord. Finally, she has no strength left in her at all and raises her hands and gives up the fight completely, surrendering to the Lord. Then and only then the Lord helps her and restores her dignity. When she asks him why he didn't come earlier, why he waited until the last moment, the response is, as long you were holding on to the saree, you were still able to help yourself and did not need me. The moment you gave up control completely, only then can I step in and help you. Same case here with Khushi too. Arnav came to help her when she felt she did all that she could and cannot do anymore without his help.

Final stance

Nani: She's heard all and will assimilate the facts, think through and then make a decision, hopefully on Khushi's side. She was the first one to notice that Khushi is mature beyond her age and also wanted her to help Lavanya learn the traditions and good behavior. Nani is also the one to notice the attraction between Arnav and Khushi. She also saw how much Khushi cared for her husband (when ASR lost his voice) and her desolate state and lack of cheer when ASR was supposedly in Scotland. However, Nani will not forgive Khushi easily for hiding the truth; she will come around though and probably will be guiding Anjali too in making proper decisions.

Mamiji: Here is a very smart woman who is more than capable of connecting the dots and will get to the bottom of the truth when she's given a chance to calm down. Right now, she's not going to support the sisters, but will eventually realize all that Payal has done for bubli and how much trouble Khushi went through to find Arnav. She's also the only one who does not trust Shyam at all and will realize his true face and help Anjali in her distraught state.

Akash: He loved Payal, went after her and got married to her. But, does he really know his wife? No. Today he's found out that his wife hid very important facts from him. Khushi did not trust him enough to share about the kidnap and neither did his mother. He was kept in the dark for too long. Just like Nani, he too needs time to come to terms with things.

Anjali: Her whole dream world is almost ready to collapse. The husband she's worshipped and loved has betrayed her in so many ways (she may deny this now, but in her heart she knows the truth already) and Khushi, whom she's always treated like a sister and helped out is about to shatter her precious world and has lied to her. She's been presented with too many facts. Should she trust her husband or Khushi who hasn't shown any proof against shyam? Anjali already made it clear that Khushi lost her trust completely and it won't be a surprise if she turns against Khushi. She's already a broken woman who is currently incapable of making decisions. But, time, they say is the best healer and she will come out of this nightmarish part of her life with the help of her family members.

Arnav Singh Raizada:There was many faces of ASR that I saw, that of Lord Krishna as I mentioned above as a Man on fire who took action and also as a Black Box.

Man on Fire is a movie about an ex-assassin who's hired as a body guard for a child. In due course he becomes very friendly with the child who's later kidnapped. He goes after the kidnappers and brings back the child.

There's no doubt in my mind that he absolutely trusts his wife. In addition to NK, he's the only one who has seen how much trouble Khushi went through to find and free him from the kidnappers. He knows he has protect his wife will do anything for her. As Shyam ranted and raved about his wife, the fire kept building in him and it reached it's peak when Shyam degraded his wife's character. That was the last straw and the fire finally ignited only to consume Shyam.

As things were being disclosed, the surprise on his face was

1) He never realized half of Khushi's sacrifices, how she's had to make a deal with the devil himself and the troubles she went through with Shyam, how she must have hated all these yet did it all for him. His admiration for his wife has grown so much. He's really proud of his wife, but at the same time pained that because of him she's had to do all this and more. He also knows that none in the family will believe her easily and she has a lot of making up to do before they accept her. But, he will support her no matter what.

2) He already knows things about Shyam, but as Khushi and NK are disclosing more and more information, he now realizes the layers to this man that he never saw before.

Black Box: ASR to me is like a black box right now. We haven't seen or heard what his thoughts are. Yes, agreed that he's a man of few words, but to a lay viewer like me, I need to see and hear things that justify his actions. I really hope this is coming up soon as we are all about to pull out our hair trying to do a lot of guess work about his intentions, what he knows or does not know, what were his thoughts about the kidnapping fiasco and did he and Khushi plan something before entering the house...too many questions here.

Deceit looked in the eyes of Truth and asked for proof''..'.Truth kept staring into Deceit's eyes''''

Yesterday when I was watching the episode''..so many thoughts sprung into my mind. We spoke of the flood that was threatening to drown the RM. We are yet to see the severe damage it has caused in the relationships'...

Truth when disclosed at the wrong time and without proof'...will not have the desired result...

Shyam accuses Khushi for her behaviour...As expected he turned the tables and blamed Khushi...

Here Payal steps in and defends her sister Khushi...The truth about Shyam, staying as paying guest in GH, his engagement to Khushi...all comes out in the open...She even tells them to call Buaji and Amma...for confirmation...

Khushi holds Anjali's hand and informs her that the only reason...She never disclosed this truth was because...she never wanted to see her hurt...

Anjali needs to know the reason for not disclosing the truth...Whether she believes the reason or not???...May be not now...But She will in future...

Everything comes out in the open...Khushi has laid out everything...supported by NK and Payal...She has got nothing to hide now...This is the first step and the most important step that Khushi has taken today for which she will reap the reward later...

Khushi knew from the beginning that she never had proof...Solid proof to convince anyone...But still she went across and tried to unmask Shyam...with the support of Arnav...Today they got to see a different face of Shyam...a Shyam different from being timid...

Shyam ...who was always seen as a person who will never lie... Who respects his wife...and who till date hasn't spoken anything ill about Payal and Khushi...today gave them a different picture...which didn't go well with Naniji and Mamiji...

Today he buried himself in his lies...

When all the facts were laid out before everyone's eyes to judge...Khushi then pleads with Arnav to believe her. She asks him to look into her eyes and believe her...Something that she didn't do previously...During all the accusation she looks at Arnav... only for support...but today she pleads with him to believe her...

She accepts the fact that she doesn't have any proof'...She looks drained...and defeated...Here Arnav steps in...temporarily leaves his sister's side and slaps Shyam...twice...One for cheating his sister and one for misbehaving with his wife...

Shyam who once said that Arnav will believe him more than Khushi...today realised that's not the case...He also came to know that Arnav also loves Khushi...and he has been cheated and manipulated by these two...He has pure hate for these two going onwards...He will be back with more vengeance...

This scene also gives Khushi the deserved honor...in RM...and also stamps the fact in everyone's mind...that Anjali and Khushi are the two most important women in Arnav's life and he would never let anything happen to them...nor would he spare anyone if they dare... to harm them...

Anjali & Shyam Manohar Jha...

Anjali knows about Khushi...She knows her more than anyone...She was the one who brought her to RM...She has seen Khushi's love for Arnav and Arnav's love for Khushi...

Infact she had made every effort to bring them together because of the love they had for eachother...She witnessed this in their eyes...and their actions...

Anjali also loves shyam...Shyam who gave her a secure world and the happiness to become a mother to his child...

Will Anjali think that she lost everything because of Khushi...

Will she take Khushi's side or Shyam's side...

Does she believes her husband...even if she doesn't...She will prepare herself to believe him...till She experiences the character of Shyam herself...

I would also like to point out that ...

Even when Shyam's denial can no longer hold and Anjali finally has to admit to the fact that she had been lied to...She will frantically search for ways to keep it from disrupting her life...So she will rationalize...She will find "good reasons" to justify his lying...Just as Shyam almost always accompanies his confessions with good reasons...for his lies...If Shyam tells Anjali...that he only lied because (his reasons)...she will convince herself that he only lied because (same reason)...

Allowing the lies to register in our consciousness means having to make room for any number of frightening possibilities:

. He's not the man I thought he was

.The relationship has spun out of control and I don't know what to do

.The relationship may be over.

Most women will do almost anything to avoid having to face these truths. Even if we yell and scream at him when we discover that he's lied to us, once the dust settles, most of us will opt for the comforting territory of rationalization. For the above stated reason...Its possible for Anjali to hate Khushi...and also give another chance to Shyam...to secure her world...May be that's why Shyam might come back to RM...??

Payal & Akash Singh Raizada...

Will Akash be able to trust his wife in the future...Will he be able to forgive his wife for hiding such an important incident...Will he blame her for his sister's present status...

Payal who is currently struggling to adapt herself in her new place...in her role as RM bahu and Akash's wife...Will She posses enough strenght to ride the storm...and gain her husband's trust????

Will have to wait and watch...

Khushi Kumari Gupta & Arnav Singh Raizada...

Sometimes its so beautiful to see the journey these two took...to be in the place where they are in their relationship...

When they never wanted to be together ...various forces brought them together...

Whatever may be...these two will ride the storm as never before...

Naniji...

Mamiji...

Mamiji...has witnessed the love Khushi has for Arnav...She has also witnessed how desperate Khushi was to rescue Arnav from the kidnappers...

Her doubts were partially cleared...during the confrontation...Will she believe NK's words...and investigate and arrive at her own conclusion...Yes she will

But till then Khushi has to bear the wrath of Mami.

NK...

Will Stand by Khushi as her loyal friend...and will completely support her...

I would like to Thank the entire team of IPKKND...Superb...The actors have brought life to the characters...Applause to everyone...
