TOI: Bollywood was next obvious step-Barun

TV actor Barun Sobti tells TOI that he's undecided about quitting television
Television actor Barun Sobti's fans are still wondering if he's quitting the teleserial Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. The actor, who is currently shooting in the city for his firstBollywood film, says, "Bollywood is the next obvious step. However, I haven't really thought whether I want to continue or quit television."

In the film Main Aur Mr Right, which is being shot at a vineyard in the city, Barun is reportedly cast opposite Shehnaz Treasurywala. But he remains tight-lipped. "I won't say much about the film now. But it is an interesting subject," is all he says.

The actor debuted on television with the show Shraddha after which he did a cameo in Dil Mil Gaye and the lead role in Baat Humari Pakki Hai. But Barun struck gold with his second soap where he plays the lead with actress Sanaya Irani. He has also been invited as a guest on reality shows like Indian Idol and Boogie Woogie.

Barun has a huge female fan-following, courtesy his character of Arnav Singh Raizada. Ask him how he handles all the attention and he says, "It doesn't bother me much. I am a happily married man! I smile at my fans, give autographs and let them click photographs with me. That is all." Barun tied the knot with Pashmeen Manchanda about a year and a half ago. Link-ups with co-stars don't matter to him. "Link-ups never bother me because Pashmeen is friends with almost all my co-stars," he says.
