I am making this post hastily because I may not be able to make my weekend post this week. Exams and other things too….So, here's a post that you can reserve for the weekend if you want, but I'm just pre-posting it here and well….its kind of long. Sorry! *holds ear like NK*
Two days. Two days is all I exempted myself from watching IPKKND for my exams and I came be back to see everything on fire! Ahhh!!! All the things I missed! Missed!
But first, CONGRATS to Sanaya for topping at the Rankings on no. 2. And yes, Bravo Barun for remaining hot-stuck on no. 1!!! We fans rock!!! Because SaRun rock!!!
Okay, enough of the jabber already….
I was watching the Monday's epi and paying close attention to expressions and twitches (you know whose!) and dialogues and yes, the bg music as well (a riot they are for Shyamwa!) and then what should spring up but Arnav in white looking mesmerized by a celestial Kushi! Yikes! I paused the scene, jumped around the room a bit and then when I'd calmed down my hormones, came back and pressed play and then when I heard the Teri Meri begin, paused again, jumped around double the height than before, came back, played again and then drooled as they danced and then…..the camera widened out and Kushi's midriff appeared and Arnav pulled at Kushi and my trembling hand paused again. This time no jumping. I went straight to my bed, lay flat on it, giggled for like a whole minute and then still giggling (kind of like a more controlled kind of giggling) came back. Played and braved the rest of the scene without even blinking my eyes. By the time it ended, my eyes were wet, not because I didn't blink but because I was moved by the beauty and depth of passion that they'd just portrayed. I have only two words for that love: PURE PASSION. Pure, in every sense. Passion in, well, do I have to point out how ArHi, whether fighting or Rabba-Veying, emanate downright passion?
I know this epi must have created an uproar in the Forum but darn! I missed it.
Okay, foremost let me tell you, personally I hate Freudji but I love his 'mind' theories! Now, we saw here, when Arnav is weak and helpless, his unconscious takes over and he cannot differentiate between dream and fantasy. Oh yes, Freudji has written much about the Interpretation of Dreams but I choose to pick on every factor that is part of a dream.
First, we must remember that "dreams are the gateways to man's unconscious". So here we are, entering the dark deep recesses of Arnavji's unconscious, where lie his innermost secrets, hurts and desires. You must also remember that the "Id" (which works on the pleasure principle) is vastly located in one's unconscious. *wink*
Now, some pointers you will need to note when we analyze this special dream!
Psychologically, if the dream includes:
A man caressing the hair of a woman, this shows he will enjoy the love and confidence of some worthy woman who will trust him despite the world's condemnation. (I'm jumping here!!!)
We see a lot of hair and clothes flying here. Note that to dream of "flying", according to Patricia Garfield, is an escape out of a fearful situation and satisfaction with something in your life. For men especially, flying is associated with cravings for sexual thrills or longing for freedom. Well, to Freudji, dreams of flying meant, "nothing else but the desire to be capable of sexual activity." Derek Parker has got something else to say: "Flying" in dreams could mean the dreamer is rising above problems in their waking life.
Now, let's focus on the room. Dreaming of an "enclosed room" represents your entry into your unconscious and is a sign of what you are aware of but don't use/want. Also it can be what we are trying to achieve or work up to.
Now for the last pointer: to dream of nakedness. Well not entirely naked but "partially" speaking. Arnav's shirt buttons were open at the top and Kushi's midriff was exposed. It symbolizes the ''naked truth'' about oneself. Totally open and exposed. It may be an expression for childhood innocence and freedom from artificial inhibitions. Showing off your nudity may be also a desire for sex, or a desire for recognition.
Okay, now all this was what the psychologists would say regarding the factors we saw on the epi. Want to know my side of the story?
Foremost, we see Arnav taking us on a journey through his unconscious. And what do we see first: he is in white. And he moves towards the light. Obvious interpretation: "I died and went to heaven." Souls are believed to be white and he is now in his pure form, standing at the gates of heaven. Now, death does not mean "real death". No, for Arnav, it means killing the beast in him. It is a sign of healing, of rebirth of change….Something is coming to an end. And what takes place is the death of the egoself and its resurrection to a spiritual realization.
Now, let's move into the sequence. *giggle*
KUSHI's SIMILE: First, take a look at the pictures below. What is the first impression you get? As soon as I'd seen it on my screen, one thought crossed my mind, "wings of an angel!" Yup, Kushi as we all know (and must know, if you don't yet know) is Arnavji's personal guardian angel send exclusively by Devi Mayya herself. *wink*
SHE REALLY BELONGS TO ME? Okay, I had to put this because I love drooling at Arnav as he drools at Kushi. *sigh* Look at him! He can't believe this celestial being standing before him is his to own!!!
FROM THE DARK, TO THE LIGHT: Well, this next one is a 'technical' feature of the sequence where the editors black-faded the scene before it emerged. But do you see the contrast? The light that is Kushi (towards which he moved from the darkness) is there to guide him when he seeks for her. The transformation is havening already.
YOU EYE HIM, HE EYES YOU: This is pivotal. You see 'she' has got her 'eyes' on him while he looks elsewhere and slowly comes to see her. Guardian angels never take their eyes of you even if you think they aren't looking. Now, a few seconds later we see him 'circling' her (like how he did for the sangeet Teri Meri) and here, HE does not take his eyes off her. She is aware of his presence. He circles around her like a love-struck devotee worshipping his goddess. From now on, the woman will feel uncomfortable to look steadily into his eyes but the eager man will not even blink but stare fixedly at her.
Now, before I begin on the rest of the analysis, I would like to point out that we are about to see three phases of "Surrender" and "Separation". Frankly, ArHi have separated after almost-surrendering 'twice': one was post-Diwali and the other was post-Terrace scene. Don't ask me when the third will come, but I assure you if you need spice and passion and balanced character consistency, the third Separation (or "distance", which is what is a more appropriate word) must happen! We'll keep this discussion for later, but foremost let's move onto the scenes:
SURRENDER PHASE ONE: The way he pulls her! And the way their faces are so close together he could have taken a bite off her! After the sacred 'circling', he runs his hand over her waist and does that "want to dig my face into the curve of your neck" thingy which he always does when dancing with her and oh my! Will you look at the way she is surrendering? Closed eyes and hmmm….did I hear Kushi moan? *wink* But what I want you to remember is the area he placed his hands. Symbolically, on her womb. Is he asking her if she could bear his children? Is he accepting her as the one who would complete him and provide a legacy to leave on earth? And she places her hand on his, meaning, she said YES!!! Oh my goodness!! We're going to have mini ArHi's!!!! Ah, please note the second row of pictures where they are in that back-to-chest embrace and light is seen falling from the front….Devi Mayya is sooo blessing them!! Go and multiply!!! Something else you would best note: Arnav's shirt is open where his heart can be exposed and Kushi's, well…..yes. What is meant here is: that Kushi is willingly surrendering her womb to him and Arnav is willingly surrendering his heart to her….without INHIBITIONS!! Now moving on, in the next row of pictures you see how they don't lose 'touch' or contact, whether its their body or their hand…. there in touch always!!!! She circles in his arms with her hand on his hand, and when both her hands are about to touch his face, her body is leaning towards him!! Do you see the first picture in the fifth row? Arnav's got his hand on her face and Kushi has her hand touching his face too….Oh wow!! I love this picture!! But note: as soon as Arnav touches her and she is aware of it, she drops her hand and makes way for another separation.
SEPARATION PHASE ONE: Okay, before I proceed with this analysis, kindly remember, this is ARNAV's unconscious. Maybe it was him who kept pushing her away out of his heart, post-Diwali and post-Terrace scenes. But to the owner of a bruised unconscious like him, from his perspective, it would always sound like SHE LEFT ME…..and so we see that she is leaving him. But in truth, in the conscious world, HE was forcing her to leave.
Poor Arnavji's unconscious wonders why she has walked away. Why is he alone in the darkness? Post-Diwali, even though they separated, she still comes before him because Di, Nani and Lavanya asked her to come. Hence, here too, he can still see her. She pauses, sees his pain and realizes he wants her back though he doesn't say anything. His eyes tell it all.
SURRENDER and SEPARATION PHASE TWO: Ah, short surrender and separation, but vital all the same. This is the only separation in which he cannot see her leaving….she just pops out of the air. Post-Terrace effect? Quite! It was before that Terrace incident that ArHi romance was more thicker and 'consciously' done (unlike the unconscious advances pre-Diwali) and so we see them approach so. I love the first pic here because starting with the central theme and pic of the show, we have always seen ArHi turning away from each other or walking past each other into different directions. But here, they walk "towards" each other!! And the third picture in that first row: amazing! You see how he brings his hands up to cup her face? He brings it from the "sides" and not from the front. You see how his hands brush parallel to her shoulder. It's a sign of protection. He assures of his protection and then wants to give her his love…..that is why Kushi surrenders to his love again. Because it is safe. It is secure. She knows he will always be her protector and she knows he will love her….Her eyes closed but his eyes open, watching her surrendering to him. So much like any man in love!! And then, BOOM! Terrace scene happens and Kushi is out! Once again, he is distraught and cannot understand why this had to happen? But it happened and she is not there.
SURRENDER and SEPARATION PHASE THREE: Who said she is not there?!!! You see, she came back. To Arnav, unconsciously, every Rabba Vey after his marriage with her, is Kushi's own initiative to get 'soft' with him. He said it many times himself that she shouldn't for a moment think that he accepts her as his wife and will let her live happily with him. He feels that every "Swami" track and "Dabba business" madness was her striving to get him to love her again. That is what is shown here, by 'her' coming back….
Second row, ah! What a picture man, what a picture!! Her arms wound around his shoulders, (like a school bag) and him leaning his head towards her as if listening to what she has to say…One hand of his touching her hand on his shoulder. *sigh* What can I say! This is one pose I'm fixated on!! There is so much meaning to it but I am so poor in deriving it. I can only look at the picture and stand in awe and admiration and may my silence say it all….the strength that one finds in the other, the longingness to hold on, to be held….the oneness in which they have surrendered….she wants him, and he gives himself and assures it through that single touch…ah….no words, no words!! CVs, you're amazing!! Cameraman, you are bang on superb to capture this!!!
Note again how they do not lose 'hand contact' or 'body contact'. They are in 'touch' and this time, he circles within her arms. If it had been her circling in his arms before, here its 'him'. This is actually the present track we are having on the show, where he made his confession, and his advances to an almost consummation…its 'him circling' here. And then came the Internationally acclaimed hug of the Best Jodi!!! Yes, this hug is desperate, is yearning. Seeking support, seeking the permanent presence of the other….They have embraced each other fully, both hands tightened around the other. (you can see Kushi's other hand peeing from behind Arnavji!) You see how he is leaning his head upon hers? Like he wants to rest there and find comfort in inclining his head towards her….
But in his unconscious mind, she WILL stir….she WILL open her eyes and lift her head up….she WILL look at his smiling lips that may have kissed her and as he watches her….she WILL look away and walk off. Once again, this is in 'his unconscious', so she might not be actually walking off but is 'forced to walk off'. However, his yearning, love-thirsty eyes will always see it as her deliberate WALKING away. But the difference between this separation and the others is that he has 'expected' it. He knows it will happen and he is saying , "its okay, let's separate". You can see that on his face. This is going to happen, friends, there is a going to be a moment soon when she will have to walk away not because she wants to but because she 'has' to and he will understand it though he does not want it to happen. But note that in this walking away, she does 'not' turn to look at him. She doesn't see the sad yearning in his eyes….she just walks away. But that is what he will think. He will find her cold, and not loving him anymore like she used to. But he will understand that it must be so….because when he wakes up from his dream, Kushi will not be walking away anymore, she will hear his call and reach out to him in the darkness that he would have created for himself... because he is without his light, without his Kushi….without his guardian angel.
Okay since I did make his post, I'll mention the other matters happening on the show in quick succession. I am loving NK. Totally loving him. He's like this 'sun' bursting on the screen every time he appears or opens his mouth to say something!!! And ssooo loving Kushi…..I've always loved her though at times the love did give way to 'sympathy' but I am sooo loving her brains and braves now!! Hardy boy and Nancy Drew are on it!!!
And Payal….eh….that is one area I am still not sure is part of this show. I don't know what the CVs are intending through showing her in this absurd desperation but I hope that the CVs will remember that every other character in the show is meant to, in some way or the other, directly or indirectly, influence ArHi's romance. Payaash track was done to get ArHi together, remember? Everything happening on the show is always centered on ArHi and we only have to pick out the obvious when its time. Hope the CVs remember this when they continue showing Payal in this…...eh, whatever state she is now. Can't even get a word to describe it!
And now, to our next greatest element on the show: Shaymwa!! Oh I looove him so much these days!! What an awesome villain we have!! He comes onto a scene, and we all want to pounce on him and punch him to pieces!! Great job, Abhaas!! Especially when he now suddenly remembered that money is not his only motive: Kushi needs to be flirted too!! Oh and by the way, I loved how they showed Shyam yesterday. As he comes with the candle dressed in white. I was bouncing with delight on my chair when they showed him like that: so much like the character I'm creating in my Gothic FF. (For those of you who do not know what I'm talking about, its somewhere there: The Beasts and the Bleeding Roses. Not that you should read it….just mentioned.) Shyam came into Kushi's and Gupta Parivaar's life in 'white' like an angel with the 'light' of wisdom on his tongue and 'candle' of kindness in his deeds. But you see how dark the aura 'around' him is? That's Shyam. The real person is not visible for you only see the one approaching, the one in 'white with a candle'…But if you look 'beyond' his supposed 'whiteness', you will see how dark and deadly he is and how you should stay away from him….
Also in my "IPKKND in CHESS and CARDS" analysis, I had mentioned that Shyam was the Joker, the "wild card" that could be used as a substitute for any other card. Well, he is keeping up with that job here: coming to Kushi's nightly rescue in the place of Arnav, the King of Clubs.
But do you know what I loved about the show now, it's the Battle of Wits. One trying to be ahead of the other in wits and tricks! Oh wow!! Everything is so unexpected and happening so fast that every episode is rich in potency, moves and brilliance. If we think Shaym's got Kushi, Kushi moves quick and makes a fool out of hm. If Kushi thinks she has Shyam hooked onto her, he is wary and watching and ready alert showing that he knows "Kushi" is no ordinary girl. She can't be fooled either!!! Clever and cunning, fighting for the prize!!! And I'm lovin' it!!!
Okay, I'm sorry, really sorry that I blabbered on like this. I am off to study now. Promise! I won't be a bad girl again and make posts when I should be studying. But please do comment if you can wade through this post to this sentence. Would love to hear how much you fell or faltered for ArHi!! See you soon!!
