Khushi, Tumhe Yaad Hai Woh Thappad...
Khushi, That Slap of Yours!
Arnav felt very frustrated when the battery of the phone ran out in the middle of his conversation with Khushi. He closed his eyes.. those moments when he could just feel Khushi's presence on the other side..those moments when he could here her breath on the phone..Those moments when he knew she had tears trickling down her face...
Just the thought of tears tricking down Khushi's face made Arnav restless.. very restless.. he closed his eyes to gain control of his emotions... "No, Khushi, I cannot bear to see tears in your eyes...I want my mischievous Khushi... I like you the way you are, Khushi..." His tired mind... it almost left him half conscious..
Khushi, remember that day...You and NK were practicing dance moves... for Aakash-Payal's Sangeet...I happened to come down when NK was taking liberty with you..holding your hand..getting cozy with you.. You are just so innocent..half of the times you don't even know what's happening to you.. this was one of those times...NK being cozy with you and you totally oblivious of his intentions..
But, it made my blood boil... angered me so much! I came back to the poolside and found you behaving really weird! But then.. you are the crazy one..
You came to me and asked me not to move..said, "It is in your best interest!" I was totally puzzled how not moving could be in my best interest..Then what happened was beyond my wildest imagination!
YOU SLAPPED ME!
I just could not believe that you slapped me... then you and your big eyes.. your shocked face.. my anger ... I felt so humiliated...On top of it, when NK came, you told him that you slapped me.. because of the mosquito.. I asked you to 'shut up' but you would not listen!
NK tried to tell me that I could have developed "Loveria" if the mosquito had bitten me... Even in that situation you corrected him.."Not Loveria..Malaria!" I almost lost it!
I asked him to stay out of it...He finally listened... He tried to tell you as well.. but you..You are you! You kept going on despite me asking you to leave at once. You started, "Dekhiye, hum dil se muafi...I really am sorry.." I was so angry by then, I screamed with anger, "Get Out!"
All these events led me to decide that there will be no Sangeet ceremony for Aakash and Payal...
I came downstairs and declared. I told Nani despite my 'No' if they wanted to hold it, I will not show up! Aakash decided that if I was not willing to, then there should be no such ceremony..
Soon after that you showed up at my doorstep..
I asked you to go away! Said, "No need to come inside! I don't want to talk to you!"
But then you said, "Arnav ji.. if you are...because of the slap.. I..."
I turned around as your voice trailed off..
Your eyes were full of tears.. my heart just melted..I could not resist..My heart brought me to you..
All I said, "Khushi.." and you started telling me that you did not do it deliberately...
All of a sudden I became gentler, "OK, alright! Stop crying.."
"Does that mean you forgive me?" I nodded 'Yes"
You immediately wiped off your tears... Sawan ki dhoop ki terha.. Just like the sunshine of Sawan after the rains..your smile brightened.. and you said, " Ok, does that mean we can have Sangeet?"
I was shocked! "What?" You said that since I was not angry anymore... stunned me asked you, "So, you were just acting till now.. that..apology..?"
You tried to tell me that it was not.. I was just so shocked. I asked you to "Get out..before I.." You said, "Look you are getting angry again..." "Before you...what?" Then without letting me talk, you went on to say that you are asking for forgiveness now for the second time! ..Then you said, "Oh, my light just went on in my head! Look, you are upset because I slapped you.. so you go ahead and slap me too!"
I was just amazed.. You..Ahhh! As I stood there looking at the crazy you.. that my heart had trouble figuring out when to get angry with you and when to just adore you.. you said, "What are you looking at? This is my face.. and that's your hand..So, go ahead!"
"Really? Shall I...?"
You nodded vigorously...with your eyes tightly closed and your lips saying, "Devi Maiyya..Devi Maiyya.."
My heart.. just adored you at that moment.. all I could say, "Let it be!.. You won't be able to handle it!.."
Now, it was your turn to be surprised!
We did not but our hearts knew..
