So my suggestion, cut the corner of the passport but leave the passport with him... That makes the passport invalid. No person will cut the corners like that of his passport because that will mean he won't be able to use it to travel which will indicate to police as foul play. Shyam is not stupid enough to kill Arnav before property is cleared. So this might be a way to buy time.
