First Rain, First Confession!
The amazingly silent room was all of a sudden filled with the noise of the rain clattering on the huge
French window in their room. Khushi, clad in her elegant white saree, reached out to the window in a
jump. She opened he window and held out her hand relishing the feeling of the season's first raindrops on her hand.
Arnav returned home early from office only to be greeted by a magnificent sight. His woman enjoying the rains. He saw her near the poolside, getting drenched in god's shower. Her white saree was clinging to her perfectly carved body, making his eyes fill with lust.
Rains-were special to both of them. For her, they brought back certain special Lucknowy memories. For him, it brought back memories of him with her.
Arnav_khushi who married on a contract of six months were now bonded by several births. All their life problems including the biggest one called Shyam had been ended. Since the happy days started in their life, a lot had changed. Khushi, was now no more Khushi, she was rightly called 'Mrs.Raizada." She had adopted to a new high standard lifestyle for her husband. No, it wasnt as if he forced her to do the same, but she herself chose it. She would wear special designer clothes, no more the chamkili of Lucknow. She was now, one of the best style icons in Delhi, as famous as her husband. On the contrary Arnav hadnt changed a degree. He was still the same arrogant and ruthless business tycoon who claimed to write his own fate. He had seen her change and was glad about it. But somewhere down the line, he missed the 'chamkili' in Khushi.
Love-Yes, they loved each other unconditionally and this was proved on various occassions. But one thing that missed in their relationship was- confession. And this was where their relationship lacked. Arnav Singh Raizada was a man of few words, so noone really expected him to say his love out loud. His actions, his eyes proved his love for her but sometimes its necessary to say love than to show love. Khushi was desperate to hear him say his feelings. Khushi, however had confessed, many times and expected him o confess in return but he never did.
Coming back to the present, Arnav stood there appreciating the beauty of his wife through his eyes. Seeing her playing in the rain, a realization dawned upon him- The realization that he had unknowingly snatched away her innocence, her childishness, her own self. The desire that sparkled in his eyes moments ago changed to longing- The longing to be with the same old Khushi which he initially fell in love with. Removing his blazer and waistcoat, he moved towards her in his sparkling white shirt. He stepped out in the rain, not minding the droplets drenching him. khushi, who was still ignorant of his presence, was lost in her own bliss.
'Khushi..' He said, his voice showing various emotions.
"Aap.. Aap kab aaye ? Humein pata hi nahi chala."
They stood there in moments of silence trying to read each other's minds. Khushi sensed something different, something unusual within him but she decided to keep silent.
"Hum aapke liye chai aur pakode lekar aate hai.." she said trying to break the silence, which was awkward for the first time between them.
He held her hand while she was going and turned her around gently,
"Khushi, shall we?" He asked , holding his hand out for a dance.
She looked at him as if she had been proposed for a dance by a stranger. He was definitely not her husband, she thought.
He always knew she had fantasized about dancing with him in the rains, just like those cute little romantic fictions.
She took his hand and both danced to an unknown rhythm of love. Their hand clasped, their eyes boring into each other's hearts.
"I am sorry, Khushi." Arnav whispered, as they stopped dancing but their hands still rested on each other.
"Arnavji.. ye aap..."
He placed his hands on her cheeks , cupping her face. She subconsciously placed her hands on his chest.
"Khushi, Me jaanta hu ki tumne.. mere liye khudko bhi badal diya and maine.. tumhare liye kuch bhi nahi kiya. I have given you nothing but pain."
"yeh aap kya keh rahe hai arnavji, I am what I am for you, not because of you."
Khushi was shocked as Arnav was never the kind of husband who would have hearty conversations with his wife.
He kissed her forehead and said "Khushi, I-I.. I love you Khushi."
And the most awaited moment was here. He had said it. She had heard it. And their relationship was complete.
Khushi's tears mixed with raindrops as they fell down her cheeks. Arnav wiped them instantly, shaking his head, indicating her to stop crying. She leaned in his hands which were on her cheeks and said "I love you too, Arnavji."
They pulled each other in to a tight embrace, not wanting to leave each other.
They started swaying again, still held in each other's embrace. The only difference was this time they were swaying in the happiness of their love, in the known rhythm of love.
The season's first rain brought with itself their first confession. It also carried with itself some newer memories!
So how was it! Relieving? Hopefully! Do comment and give me your feedbacks! Criticism is accepted!
