I agree, it doesn't just stop with guns. If you look closely serials have so many other negative aspects/genres presented in such a blase manner, yet romance even between man and wife are censored. Double standards I guess.

I agree partly... It can't be taboo to show intimacy when violence is acceptable. However, I am also not for letting 13/14 yr. olds watch either of the 2. I wouldn't allow my children to watch any of the Hindi soaps. I have said his to friends and I will say it here, IMO, Hindi soaps should be rated R!

It does not have so much to do with either romance/intimacy or violence, but more to do with suggestive gestures! I say, if you are going to suggest something, just show it properly and artistically. When you suggest something, a child/teen may misconstrue it. Hence, if a kiss is suggested, just do it! Otherwise, leave at hand holding.😛

In todays world there are too many voilence happenning... So i don't call what ever is happening in indian soaps as extremes. The kids can watch the news, where most of the thing is about voilence... And coming 2 romance its just that culture doesn't allow. I mean it should be done in private and not to be shown n public...
Just my view. No hard feelings. Btw great post :D

some of the things that inappropriately aged, young kids come across nowadays, romance and related stuff is too mild and I remember one member made a post after the hut promo - about this not being p*rn! seriously it isn't!

it can be a bit weird when parents are there cause thats how the environment has been since childhood and cause unease, but in the case of IPKKND its not even mildly explicit!

that's my take too

Well in the western world, they have rating systems. Parents can control what their children should see or not based on the rating systems. But in Asian movies /shows , we still have not implemented rating system and hence, no controlling system. That's why movie or show makers don't like to use intimacy scene as they fear it will outrage older viewers. In Asian countries , most families have one or two television and which are shared by family members ( I mean , shows are watched by whole family ). An intimacy scene could embrrass parents while they are watching with their kids. That's why I think it is quite impractical for makers to use too much intimacy scenes as most of their shows are not focused on particular audiences.
Violence is bad , but it does not embarrass them while they watch together ( it makes them feel disgusted though) . That's why viewers don't complain about violence as they do for intimate scenes.

I have asked this similar question several times after watching parts of today's episode and Monday's precap...I believe that most of the south Asian media are comfortable showing violence...and ironically violence against women...a daughter- in - law getting tortured and ofcourse the using of firing arms etc.whereas they refrain from showing intimacy which is suppose to be a natural feeling. It's very hypocritical in my opinion.

On a note...the precap was horrific.

Wow👏
Short answer, including a thousand words
I liked the movement and the action in today's episode
That summoned to the need for such scenes
Some see it was violence,
but I look it from the perspective of self-defense

or to defend the person we love
must accept the opinion and the other opinion
your topic worthy of discussion.
Thanks a lot👏

Hehe..true!:-) i hav another such question. Often in our hindi n regional shows, a girl wearing jeans, or a knee length skirt n top, which covers almost evry part of body other than legs n shoulders r called culture less. Bt, in most shows, the 'cultured traditional' women they show, wear lengthy clothes, n saree, bt never cover up enough, where they should be. Bare back... Bare waist, deep cut blouse n the excuse of a saree... 😉 dress is one's own priority, bt isnt this a double standard😉
