Hey guys.. I ve mixed feelings about the episode.. But I loved some bits.. Some bits not so much..
It is logical after-all' Fireflies are so lovely, that they had to be the symbol of some kind. It doesn't look very attractive or very different than any other insect. But it's only during the day. Because at night, it's when all its symbolic meaning is born.
The amazing thing about this symbol is that the firefly can represent an exceptional human being. Why ? Because the firefly is shining from the inside out, just like if it was liberating its interior beauty. Same thing with human beings. External beauty is nothing without internal beauty that can make a person shine.
It also has different meanings like inspiration. We sometimes say that a light bulb suddenly turned on when we have a brilliant idea. That's why fireflies symbolize inspiration.
What about the symbol of hope. It is a beautiful symbol. Hope is like a strand of light when someone feels like there is no issue and feels in the complete darkness. Then a strand of light appears, and we come back to life, and begin to hope again.
Guidance is also one of the symbols that fireflies represent. The natural instinct of a being is to follow the light instead of getting lost in the night. And it's true that when you're walking in the night and you suddenly see a firefly, your natural reflex is to follow it, because it is fascinating, and because it looks like it's guiding us towards the right path.
Exceptional human being-- External beauty is nothing without internal beauty that can make a person shine. Khushi though a beauty otherwise too, her real beauty lies in her heart.. Her heart which is so pure and innocent.. her honesty and her Zest for life is what has made Arnav fall in love with her so helplessly.. and who is to say that Arnav is not an exceptional human being.. He is loving, caring, intelligent, dedicated, passionate, strong.. True, many of the qualities are often hidden inside ASR.. but they are there..
Inspiration--she has inspired those around her time and again.. be it Anjali, whom she helped in finding strength when she needed most... or Lavanya, whom she was able to transform into a better person, nani accepted.. AND ARNAV.. for him she is his inspiration.. he learnt how to be humble, modest, forgiving because of her..
Hope--They give constant hope to each other.. a hope for better life, better future.. a hope to meet again every time they part..
Guidance -- hopefully it means that they will be guided towards the right path in the near future.. the path which will prevent them from walking down the path of destruction..
Fireflies are fascinating little creatures. They are so little.. yet they can mean so much..
the first amazing thing about the episode was when Arnav asked Khushi to close her eyes and count till ten... To me it meant that she will follow him anywhere to the ends of the earth without questioning, without doubting.. Such is their love and her trust in him..
He was there by her side as soon as she was done counting.. He will not let her down in future.. He will not lose her trust again..
Its no surprise that most of us are stuck at this "firefly scene" It was so beautifully executed.. the glow on Khushi's face at the sight of "jugunu", and the smile of contentment on Arnav's face at the look of joy on khushi's face, said it all.. he was so happy to see the smile return to her face.. This is the Khushi he fell in love with.. the smiling, laughing Khushi who enjoys every moment of her life, no matter how big or small..
The firefly in the earthen pot made me wonder about the Greek mythology.. In classical Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman on Earth. Zeus ordered Hephaestus, the God of craftsmanship, to create her, so he did'using water and Earth. The gods endowed her with many gifts: Athena clothed her, Aphrodite gave her beauty, and Hermes speech.
When Prometheus stole fire from heaven, Zeus took vengeance by presenting Pandora to Epimetheus, Prometheus' brother. With her, Pandora was given a beautiful container which she was not to open under any circumstance. Impelled by her curiosity given to her by the gods, Pandora opened it, and all evil contained therein escaped and spread over the earth. She hastened to close the container, but the whole contents had escaped, except for one thing that lay at the bottom, which was the angel of Hope named Astrea. Pandora was deeply saddened by what she had done, and was afraid that she would have to face Zeus' wrath, since she had failed her duty; however, Zeus did not punish Pandora; because he knew this would happen.
The hope is still there.. It never deserted mankind.. Today it has become the guiding light for our lovers which will help them in their destiny..
The rest of the episode had its moments.. won't go into that.. don't really have any words for it..
The only thing left to remark upon is Arnav now able to understand that Khushi will never let go of him knowingly.. He had to hit her so that she would let him go, so that he could save her.. Both of them are so different, yet they are just the same.. They love selflessly, they will protect each other from anything, and they will make any sacrifice needed to keep the other one alive.. He hurt himself more than he hurt her when he intentionally caused her pain, when only yesterday he said that he didn't want her to get hurt for him.. He is truly her SAVIOUR.. A faint hearted man could not have done it.. But ASR has a heart of LION!!
He gave himself up so that he could protect her.. He will shield her with his life.. Because he knows that there is NO LIFE without her..
Enjoy!! 😊
