lovely, thought provoking crooner, priya. great read on this mundane saturday evening.

the quotes are running through my mind, each aptly linked by you to the crooner plot.

whenever i've read rudyard kipling, i've been struck by his poised, flowing almost 21st century language. as to his thoughts, what can i say but that one of his poems is like a guide to life for me, pinned up on my wall, but more so in my memory. from there just two lines, that may be useful in the context of those who create:

"if you can fill the unforgiving minute
with sixty seconds' worth of distance run"

never known how exactly to interpret it, but my take has been: there's a lot that will be actively unkind, demanding, awry, harsh, just plain awful but if one can just shut out the negative and make that hour of madness worthwhile for oneself by doing what one has to do, it would make all the diff.

i felt the creators needed something from us, i hope what we've given them these past couple of days, kudos, brickbats, consideration, advice, whatever, have added up to that something; and now they can go back and start spinning those diaphanous dreams again with renewed art and we can happily get back to our weekday sojourns through the ultimate hatke romance.

the episode was cute. sanaya stunning visually, and utterly endearing otherwise. as the days pass inevitably drawing towards the outing of the "boss," my heart feels a burden. yes, i'm infected. i realise i have a thing for snakewa too! i don't want to lose him. he is too good an actor, too intriguing a character, and c'mon there are enough creepy (intermittently murderous) jeejajis in our lives, can't throw them all out! but seriously, there's a certain pleasure in watching him getting thappared and thwarted that i don't want to give up on. sadist me.

of course, i love the maami khushi thingie. as someone pointed out earlier, they are two of a kind: weird in their own ways but completely accepting themselves for who they are. nice. but don't you think a fabulous creative licence has been taken with this piya gaye scotland business? this could only be given by audiences that routinely watch men dance around trees to woo women who dance no matter what while their clothes keep changing magically. plane from delhi to scotland? five ishtar hotelwa in scotland? where? in edinburgh, glasgow, inverness? or perhaps right inside loch ness.

thoughts tumble. monsters, men in skirts. monster men in skirts. stop it stop it, pass me the whisky.

barun comes back full time soon you say. that is the fourth time you wrote "dream" in the crooner. the first three written in letters of the alphabet, but the fourth one, now that's the one i don't want to wake up from.

off to check those quotes, see you all soon.

edit: just found on another thread, the same quote from kipling's "if," realised i had a couple of words wrong, changed it. memory not as good as i'd like it to be.

Ah, your play on words with that title, hun! Just loved it...That first quote is a classic; my sentiments precisely. I want to start with your point about the current leader in the IPK time slot: Bingo! I do not watch that show, but many of my relatives do so am a bit familiar with it. A consistent effort on their part to remain true to their script, working through leaps in the story, without much media blitz, other than the standard promotional bits. Having said that, I don't think GH was wrong in having his "moment"...He was essentially having a morsel of his cake & eating it, too...A justification for shortcomings, inconsistencies all under the "creative" umbrella of "teamwork" and "dedication" to their collective "baby". The forum's reaction, the less said, the better. Per my posts on Thursday itself, I would have preferred if he had not said anything at all, going by the (expected) backlash from those on the high mantles & pedestals. Every "parent" in this forum, who has now made the show his/her "baby"; never mind, that the "baby" never needed any before or after daycare...😆

But ultimately the "note" was about using social blogging/networking sites to make a pt. A PR play in today's parlance. The TRPs and the "math" surrounding them are a mystery to me...the dip here can be attributed to numerous things; I am no expert, so I won't get into it...However, I am ready to move on from it. I watch this show because of SaRun & the team he referenced, and for GH's incredible ability to tell this story. At least on this show, GH is a master at his craft, and I am all eyes & ears to what he has in the cards for us moving forward...

Going by what they have shown us--umpteen spoilers & promos aside--we now know that ASR's kidnapping is setting the stage for what will be the most anticipated romance in tv history! Looking back, ArHi's marriage--that fateful Valentine's Day--started on a note of intense & bitter hatred. In a brilliant play, the CVs did everything they could to lighten the roller coaster of emotions by giving us the Holi, 'Swami', and GH tracks! Of course it all culminated with the terrace/bridge/ME scenes...now etched in our minds forever. So, other than the Bubbly track, I don't think the last three months were a waste at all...Keeping with the poignant reminder on your part that we need to watch the show in its totality!

The kidnapping brought us the most intense confession most of us have ever seen--made under severe duress, but loud & clear in its intent...A trailer to the passion that is to come. Khushi's dream with her RajKumar was just like her--flighty, ethereal, her 'sapno ki duniya' realized, if only in her imagination...But again, a reflection on the CVs part into what is to come...This romance, with all its hard & soft edges, will be one for the books!

But before we get to the romance, lets discuss the last two epis!😃 The "filler" tag did not do much to entice me to watch them immediately, but I was glad I did give them a go...What struck me were the subtle & very apparent details...Khushi's "apko saach mein nahi pata?" to Shyam in Thursday's episode was nothing short of brilliant! Shyam's reaction to that moment pretty much said it all for how this will play out. His maniacal obsession will reach its crescendo now. The final acknowledgement that she in fact loves Arnav will throw him over the edge, coupled with Khushi finding the papers!👍🏼

Watering his plants, her love's I love you continues to spur her into action...The whole impetus to bring him back...The "do-it-yourselfer" inadvertently gets help from the resident RM "Prithvi" herself--Manu Baand! Loved how the CVs showcased what we know to be true of Maami...whatever her shortcomings, she has always been a caring & affectionate mother to the Raizada children. Khushi has seen first hand how devoted Maami is to Anjali, Arnav and Aakash...Cornered, and after a moment of hesitation, Khushi takes her into confidence. The new "baand" girls were completely in character for me...Khushi walking in and asking for CCTV tapes, Manu calling hotels in all of Scotland...Finally, the precap peeking the audience's curiosity: how did they get in unseen, wouldn't that particular room be manned 24x7? Won't say anything else until Monday!

Other thoughts: MM's references to the pagaalkhana and hospital pretty much signaling where Shyam (or us!) will end up!🤣 Hospital also reminded me of Maami's actions to the seat belt & oxygen masks last week!

Lucknow by way of Agra...from one abode of love to another...The ultimate symbol of love --the Taj Mahal--now hinted at for what is coming with the romance track. Yet another clue where we & ArHi will be during the first week of June!😉😍

References to Khaadi--home spun, light, semi-transparent...Just like this track & the "sleuths" behind it...😉

"Bhandaar"- "store" of knowledge, perhaps? Khushi & Maami coupling their smarts together!!!

Manu, BLACK is your color, gal! More on this on Monday!

Can't get enough of Khushi in that pink Anarkali...So pretty! The blue outfit was gorgeous on her too...

Abhaas rocked the scenes on Thursdays! God, I hate to love him!😆 Sanaya & Uthkarshaji, you made the last two episodes worth watching...Love the chemistry they share...Can never get enough of the "tells me"...🤣

PayAsh romance was a throwback to the old PayAsh...but we have to give it to Aakash--he's hit with bi-polarity, too...Even Nani confirmed it!😆 Will have to see which Aakash we get next week...🤣 Oh, & Aakash is so not the BOSS!!!😆

Needless to say, I am looking forward to next week & from there on out! Back to enjoying ma 4 day weekend for now! Will be on/off here as time permits! Have a ROCKING weekend, ma PHAAANNNGURRLLLS!!!🤗

I basically do not understand the argument about show suffering or TRP declining due to Barun.
The show started dropping in TRP's and even reached to a TRP of 2.9 while Barun was full time present in the show, it was basically the OTT comedy which ruined the TRP charts for this show, OTT comedy, MU dragging is what was done on the past 2 to 3 months. Barun signing the movie dint happen in the spur of the moment , it would atleast been decided 2 months back what were the CVs doing then?? They could have easily banked barun episodes for his absence. And this isnt something that no other PH has done, Ragini Khanna, Ram Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Gurmeet everyone have worked in movies along with their show , i hv watched SGP at a time where Ragini was working in a movie, the PH were able to show her daily on screen, they had banked her scenes. When other tele actor's can have the chance of exploring and growing in career why does it become a reason to cry for and blame him in Barun's matter??

The PH clearly wasted their time past 2 months showing OTT comedy, used him for nonsense scripts public bath, body building, falling on dung and all ridiculous scripts and dint even give a thought about banking his scenes, the mismanagement from the PH is clearly shown here.

The side character's were totally ignored past 2 months, where was Shyam hiding these 2 months, Anjali was hardly shown and i still do not get what is the use of Akash and Payal in this show??
Babuji is stuck to his wheel chair past so many months will he ever get up from that?
Where is Anjali's baby bump, atleast make a pregnant women look believable.
The audience do not expect total logical based shows, but they do expect shows to be near to reality, the VISA scenes and all have been so crap..

But im really glad that the PH do in a way own up to their mistake's. How many PH even try to reach out to their audience or work on damage control??
They are taking their steps to work on damage control and i appreciate that.

No point in playing the blame game, im expecting the show to get back on track from June 1st week and completely on track frm June 6th which is show's anniversary.

Im really glad to know Barun is juggling between show and movie, that speaks for his commitment towards this show , I rather wanto appreciative him for this commitment.
Great to know he would be back full time from June.

Hoping for the track's to get better And more so hoping for the show to do good in TRP's charts by June. If they are on the path of damage control then i wud wish them luck and move on than crib and cry about what has happened.

TRP auidence are the one's who make shows like Pavitra rishta, sathiya, DABH stay on top.
No wonder the OTT comedy couldnt attract the viewers.

Now it wud take time for the show to gain the lost position back, up's and down's are normal nothing to fret about, a decent steady story line should do wonder's in a while.

And m hoping against hope atleast with this first anniversary of the show the leads will be united, its been freaking 1 year the show started and sometimes my patience does run out.

p.s sorry for the long rant😳 was totally pissed with the negativity in the forum.

Dear...Will you please allow me to share this post as mine too?😆😆 Coz you have said everything what I wanted to tell. Agree with each and every point you wrote. Thank you for a such a "REALISTIC" post.
