Nicely written! My thoughts exactly. To me personally IPKKND is an escape from reality. I was studying for final exams before I graduated from college this past year, I would literally study all day but when 7:30 rolled around, I looked forward to it because it was my 'escape' from reality. And I was able to enjoy my favorite show. CV's should not take the criticism personally but see it as something they should welcome and learn from because their viewers and fans would never literally wish ill for them or their show. They should take all the criticism and come back with a bang! With such a bang, that all they would receive is praise upon praise!!

Well said... i agree with each and every word u have said above.

This post of the writer also makes me wonder whether he cares about the TRP of the show or not?? It is like pot -kettle scenario.
They already have low TRP's as the TV viewers have stopped watching it and now by releasing this kind of statement on internet they are pissing off the internet viewers also.
I dont get it what do they want??
How will pissing off internet viewers help them??
Do they want to lose the internet audience also??
Their post hints as if the team of IPKKND is the only team in this world who works Nonstop and has to work almost 20 hours a day...Well hello?? Wake up and smell the coffee mate. There are other shows on TV also and everybody works the same way as you do and all the prime TV shows have Maha Episodes and they also have to air five days in a row.
I also work almost 12 -14 hours a day and i slog my skinny ass off sometimes even on even weekends and i get paid for it and that too paid well .
i cant make mistakes in my job ..if i will it will cost me my job. I work for the Lucifer himself and that too for one of the best consultant companies in this world but i dont kiss their asses and throw myself at their feet. So stop taking us for granted that we have no life and we are just fanatics.
We are not stupid .. we watch the story because of Sanaya and Barun and the amazing couple that ARHI is. We can make you as well as break you..Dont they get it?? All the channel cares about is the TRP and if it keeps on dripping the way as it has been for the past 2 months after holi episodes the show will be axed no matter what.
They belong to the entertainment industry and If you are not up to the mark u cant win the race , you cant remain on the top . Take the example of any guy in the tinsel town or even in Tellywood.
Even Barun and Sanaya cant save the show if they cant understand their own fallacies and shortcomings.
CV's please stop whining and quit being a baby and face the harsh realities.

Kookie dear, you will never believe...I thought of you today. You and you cute love story that you posted a while back. The two of you really sound like a power couple and cute on top of it all. 😳

Awesome post Mary!! With success comes a responsibility to deliver well against all odds and that is a point that the makers of IPK are missing. I am sure they don't mean to, but getting defensive does not help as constructive criticism should always be welcome to better the show!! Having said that we can take nothing away from them in terms of hardwork and a will to deliver the best - just that sometimes they lose focus!! Take a bow - the entire crew and cast of IPK for making fiction real for us!! You make us happy and thank you for that!!!

Very well said :) ipkknd indeed is a source of happiness for so many people. The team have managed to deliver that happiness from their hard work. They need to acknowledge that fans not only criticise but get addicted to this happiness. Real life is harsh and everyone knows that's why it is good to fantasise to be happy.
I have two young children, studies, work full time in a hospital, see patients dying and families frustrated. At the end of the day when i come home and when i have some "me time" I watch ipkknd, old episodes, come to IF and all to get away from the stress. See what I do to make myself happy?!
So we are bound to expect only the best. Nonetheless, I realise this is not a reality show. Therefore please see the criticisms from another angle. we really love your show.

Btw, just FYI, I am non Indian, I live in Europe, I don't have star channel in my home but still manage to watch everything abt ipkknd. This is the first time ever in my life that I have been addicted to any show or anybody. You are doing a good job ipkknd team so keep up the good job.

Cheers

Lol.. well u dont say!! It sounds cute but trust me it is not.
It takes a lot to make your relationship work and now when you are living together after marriage it is when the real test begins.
We may sound like a power couple but we have to work darling..Cant help it!! We have demanding Jobs so ranting and raving at IF kinda helps ..lol.

yup that's where the escapism comes in. don't forget to take time for yourselves. I know how the jobs can get dull with no sun and all those hours - even when it pays. I decided after one of them that I have to find something I absolutely love. hope this work is your love too.

Perfect reply, Mary... If you can't take the heat, get out of the show business. You liked it just fine when these same fanatics swiped 7 awards for your show... Now be prepared to take their frustration when the show loses it's momentum... As for getting a life, guess how you'd feel if we stop watching and discussing the show... It will get canned within a week... So instead of complaining, be glad for our so called obsession and learn to take constructive criticism with a pinch of salt...

Gosh that was spot on Mary! Very balanced writing! Well done!
I want to add something to your valuable letter, from a business perspective.
What I am saying might seem irrelevant / comparison / bashing to some people. But I am not bashing for sure. If I am compairing, it's for a good reason, and I strongly claim that it will be far from irrelevant.
1. 8 pm India Time is the time that IPL matches started, about 2 months back. That's why it was obvious that the serials that fell in that time slot were going to suffer the most. There were some days when there were 2 IPL matches, that matches began at 4 pm and 8 pm. On those days other serials which fell into the early evening slot too had to suffer in terms of TRP's. But All in all, the serialin the 8 -10 pm slot had IPL hovering over them for whole of 2 months, everyday! And the IPKKND team was aware of it.
2. Barun signing a movie became public knowledge (rumour format) about a month ago. At least 2-3 weeks before that he must have announced it with PH and they must have had a set back around the same time that IPL started.
Thanks to teh above two adversities falling upon them almost simultaneously and as a result, IPKKND team somehow went on a defensive.
I am sure you people must be remembering that Star Plus released a combined Promo for their leading serials just before IPL started. It was supposed to give a spoiler about events occuring on SP during IPL period. There was SNS, IPKKND, EHMMBH, MKAP involved in that promo.
-SNS had released a promo of The Male Lead's (Ahem) ex GF Anita returning into his life.
-EHMMBH had released a promo that the the elder sister of the two female LEADS- Jeevika neede blood and her sister refuses to donate because she had Leukemia. This revealation was most awaited by the fans and the PH announced it in their prom o, well before IPL.
-MAKP announced the parda fash of the villians in the family and the return to glory of the leads.
-IPKKND released a promo where Khushi decides that she'll make Arnav drive her out of the house.
To my understanding, IPKKND was the weakest Promo of the 4. In fact was it a promo even? the scene that they showed as promo, had ALREADY been aired!!! If we go back in time, in the light of the facts that we now know about, POSSIBILITIES of Barun quitting for a movie, Sanaya quitting fo a reality show, Daljeet quitting for her own reasons., and IPL domination of TRPs must have haunted the PH about two months back. Everybody must have gone numb and must have wanted to be risk free, hence they went on a defensive and did not bring out much during last two months.
If we compare this to EHMMBH, they went aggressive and it paid off in terms of TRPs and fan appreciation. They paced things up with the lives of the leads. They did away with the most hated relationship of the show. They started with the long awaited Lovestory of the younger pair of leads. They started with revealation track of Maanavi's cancer. They started exploring new nuances of the CORE relationships of the show. And it paid off. In their aggression they too made some mistakes and unintensionally some loopholes remained. But they had their basic idea right which helped them GROW, not just survive through IPL.
I have always believed one thing about SNS's success in TRPs. Believe it or not, their success was more a result of their time slot than their storyline. I mean, just think from this point of view. In India, a great lot of working ladies happen to come home from offices by 6:30 7:00 pm. So before they get back to house work and dinner preparations, they get this half an hour or so to chill with a cup of tea. And that's the time that SNS airs and is a typical women audience targetted program. And hence it is preferred to be watched by many. Of course, had been a crap, people would have not watched for over 2 years. Hate marriages and sweet characters sit well with viewers. Well, personally I like SNS too. Their stories move in real life speed, but with surreal concepts! Personal opinions apart, but even this slow moving soap went ahead with a very inviting track during this period.
MKAP too did well with the pace and win win situations for the leads.
But due to the reasons discussed above, IPKKND team got disoriented and hence the lack of continuity and intensity and sensible comedy, IMO. I am an ardent fan of IPKKND and never would dream of quitting the show. I am not even disapponted too much with the CV's and the team, becauuse I sypathised with them and hoped that they will get better. Of course with Bad rumours clearing and IPL about to end and having to come to senses, they have tried well to come up with the truth revealation and ILU tracks but Bubbly track was a failure. All in all, I think the internal setbacks and IPL had an adverse effest on our serial.
There. All done. Did I even make sense? I think I did. Rest is for all to think and criticise...
