hmmm.. let me restart with a calm mind...
First of all, great job with the analysis.. very apt... And 2 pretty good questions.. will make an attempt to answer them..
1. Does pride always go before destruction?
Let me begin by asking.. Do people like Shyam have any real pride? Do they have any dignity? Do they even know what those words mean?? All they have is a misconception and feelings they name pride and dignity... but what is he proud of? Cheating on his wife? Harassing an innocent girl? Plotting to gain wealth by unlawful means? Being a snake? How can any one be proud of such things? All he has is a feeling of being superior to those around him because he can fool them.. Lil does he realise that he can only fool them cos they have true love, respect and care for each other.. The only thing that is preventing him from destruction is ANJALI! To yahaan par bhi shyam ko Anjali ki zaroorat pad hi gayi.. He had a golden goose, if he had played his cards right he could have the nest with the eggs, but because he was Shyam with no morals and False confidence that he could fool anyone.. he slipped up and fell in LUST with a girl..
There is another way to look at it... If he had not slipped over Khushi, everyone would have probably been unaware of this side of him always.. But greed and lust are close relatives, and u can not pretend to love someone forever... So he slipped.. And the result is EXPOSURE..
These feelings which he has named Pride, is actually false pride and all he has false dignity. He was indignant when he found out that Arnav has stopped depositing money in his account? WHY? Did he have any right on that money? He thinks Raizada's wealth should be his: Why? Has he earned it? In his mind he has.. He married a handicapped woman for this wealth, and has put real hard work in pretending.. So it is his..
He also showed us that all he actually cares about is money... His other wants, namely Khushi also takes a second seat when it comes to greed.. As he told Khushi in Arnav's office.. Back off, and don't spoil my plans, else u know what I'm capable of..
My mom always tells me... Confidence is good.. But overconfidence always lets u down.. His overconfidence is going to be the reason for his destruction.. and he ll be left with nothing.. He ll lose that false pride and realise that he never amounted to anything.. but cos the pride and dignity is false and delusional.. He will blame others for his failure.. He can never accept or realise the fact that his misfortune was his doing... Had he jus curbed his desires, he would still have been in RM.. had he limited himself only to the wealth.. he would atleast have something.. But his greed is his downfall..
You can't really lose something, which was never there in the first place, can you?
will answer the second one soon...
