To start off - today's episode was SO needed. The truth is FINALLY out and I'm so relieved that the reason for their marriage is known to Khushi. I'm also glad that Arnav implied that he believed her affair with Shyam is still ongoing. That is very important for her to understand.
But, while watching the episode, I did feel that there was a certain intensity which was missing. And, there is a great thread on that topic as well (started by @laddoo598). Part of it is definitely the way certain scenes were shot and directed. But, another part of it that stood out to me after re-watching the episode was the following:
Khushi's character is not the same as she was before.
I think this has been discussed in other threads before. But, I thought it was really reflected today. Especially when I contrast TODAY'S Khushi - the girl who seemed almost child-like in her decision to end her life, to the Khushi we saw in episodes like this:
Khushi's presence of mind in this scene is incredible. She has been locked up for hours in this crumbling building, is tired, and terrified. But, ultimately, she demonstrates a ferociousness and determined demeanour. She is furious that Arnav would put her in that situation. How DARE he not value her life? How DARE he think it's ok to put her in danger?
I've always thought that Khushi is a little naive, a little pagal, but she is ultimately a warrior.
I personally feel like Sanaya is now playing Khushi slightly MORE naive and childish than the character originally was. The way she speaks is actually more child-like as well. And, yes, this is also a result of the CVs' and writers' work.
So, I thought I'd ask the question:
Who is the real Khushi supposed to be?
Is she really this child-like woman we're seeing now? Is this behavior just a result of temporary insanity? lol... Or, is the real Khushi the determined, but *slightly* pagal, young woman we've grown to love over the last 10 months?
I guess this question really is meant for the CVs/Writers/ and also Sanaya. I think it's important for them to clearly understand who this character is, how she's been portrayed thus far, and what makes her unique. To me, Khushi is the heart of the show. So, when her character seems "off", it throws the show into an imbalance of sorts.
What is everyone's thoughts on this? In your opinions, how would YOU describe Khushi?
