I too come from a channel marketing team ... have spent 15 years in Indian media ... lemme tell u unlike any other country in the world our audience is the most difficult to please in masses simply because they are so diverse ... when u categorize 14 - 50 TG .. it sounds simple ... but just remember urban rural differentiation ... remember geographical differences ... If any1 thought to migrate Balika Vadhu audiences to IPk its difficult not more than 30 - 35% will move the TG is different IPK is more contemporary ... its not regressive ...

IPK is romance so much more younger TG... u will have girls going ga ga over it ... where the Ph is erring is not making more mature sub tracks ...

Case in point a young TG gives u a HIT like Jaane tu ya Jaane Na ... but a mixture of young & mature TG gives u DDLJ ... for that u need sub tracks like Kajols father .. the whole punjab track is to catch the mature audience ... thats where IPK team is failing ... i used to watch this show with my mom ... she moved off simply because she is not going to wanna watch Barun shirtless everyday ( i am like bring it on ;) ) she does not wanna watch Rabba ve all the time ... we see it for the RV moment ...
Hence a mature sub track will get this back on TRP charts ...

I dunno if u were on with Geet which was also a product of the same PH ... the same problem ... while u had the main story line even the romance was followed by all ... then the PH fell for their own marketing gimmick that of chemistry between Maan & Geet ... & then what u do is \ concentrate on that thinking that s why people are watching the show ... & u start loosing ur bread & butter audience ( the mature ones whose only way to watch TV is on TV no internet viewing for them hence the TRP providers) ... Now back track & see every1 is falling for this crap called Barun Sanaya Chemistry loo even after the epic holy sequence week ... u had the lowest ranking for the show ... romance is good in 5 mins of the show making 22 mins of romance will put audiences off ... simply because today he has a choice .. he can switch to ballika for drama ... switch to some channel for reality crap ... so theres so much more to do on TV ... u have to have the audience glued for 22 mins ... & that can't happen with RV ... it has to happen with solid drama

MARK MY WORDS THE moment RV quotient increases the TRPs will fall .. people want to see drama with a mix of romance ... easy romance is good momentarily... they need substance in this show ... u have a villain never change that please don't make him positive ... its a strong suggestion to the CVs watch Dynasty & just see for how long one single vamp called Alexis Colby took the show ...

The message and the future track -was there in the last shot itself.

Teen baar to koshish kar chuke abhi aage pata nahi kya karega-( We are talking of Shyam's murder attempts here)

And right on cue to answer her we have Arnav and the fanda( Shyams next attempt)
