People are always calling Khushi stupid/ silly/ mad/ paagal. No, I don't mean us the viewer; we have every right to call these fictional characters (that we are unduly attached to) by any names that please us. After all we are paying money and spending time watching this. What is art without feedback?
But I am referring to how everyone in the show calls Khushi some variation of stupid. Which I must admit is often not exactly undeserved. But to be called stupid all the time, now that is something. Tell me how does this thing work? Calling somebody stupid, albeit affectionately, is only affectionate upto a certain point, yes? Paagal hain, ajeeb hain, utpatan tarike hain, Sankadevi hai, etc. Is there more to Khushi than her unerring silliness? Why is ASR in love with her? Almost all the affectionate things he has ever told her (okay, not told her…but told her back or told someone else or told himself) is something to do with her silliness.

Pagal. (while she mumbled in her sleep by the poolside)
Pagal hai… magar cute hai. (you already know)

Also all those fabulous eyebrow raising and ''what'' that he offers silently that convey the same emotion – so silly and so cute
So if tomorrow the writer's were to 'fix' Khushi's silliness and turned around her personality will she still be Khushi? Will ASR continue to be charmed by this new persona? Questions, questions.
PS: As a silly girl myself, I hope that when the time comes, some dude falls in love with me for my wonderful child bearing hips than my silliness.
