If you any of us tuned into the show newly, we would laugh at the episodes but it wont generate any stickiness factor among new viewers. Existing viewers like us hang onto thin threads of faith because of one or two scenes that come along in a great while that truly are meaningful, a flash in the pan stroke of genius aka the dialog between leads yesterday when khushi heard arnav call her despite his muteness. We keep coming back to the show in the hopes of these nuggets.

Sadly, the nuggets are getting further and fewer. And the big question is, why is this show always shy of going the last mile and making it all the way to GREATNESS?

This is indeed true, i actually requested one of my close friends to watch the show because sometimes when i was out with them i would get this sudden urge to discuss something about it and had no one to share it with.
She sweetly obliged me and watched it for two whole weeks and to my utter dismay she said - that mamiji is damn funny hello hi bye bye - arnav and khushi look good but it's not intense at all, i think it falls in the comedy genre category. I didnt respond to that.

Enough said.

Great post, Gitika.
Everyday I rely totally on the wonderful posts made here on IF before even watching the epi to brace myself for what is to come. These posts have become a crutch that I use to walk through the epi when I finally get to see it here 4 and half hours after it is aired in India.
And then I have to go back again to the posts, both the old ones and the new ones in order to make sense of what I've seen as I clearly do not have the brains to get either the point the cvs are trying to make or how the epis are connected to each other and the story. And then I try hanging on to every bit of psositivity I can glean from them till the next epi. Sometimes, I wonder if I would watch this show if it were not for the posts which are like beacons in the dark morass the show is slowly becoming.

To be honest for me the posts on this forum are now the raison de etre for watching the show rather than the show itself.

I'm still trying to figure out what this week was all about, though I have to confess Wednesday's epi had me laughing my head off, but then my logical self tells me- yes, it was great fun, but where did it take the story? ASR yo-yoing between softening and hardening, while KKG yo-yoing between buffonery and despair is getting very tedious and exhausting. The snake and to maami seem to be the two constants in the show. I'm beginning to question my own sanity in wanting to sit on this emotional seesaw everyday despite the queasiness it leaves me with afterwards. The cvs take us half a step forward only to pull us back 20 steps.

But then how could there be any progression? There is no real story- just an MU based on the flimsiest of evidences and the promise of a happily ever after- and if they showed the MU ending there would nothing left ot show. As I said in an earlier post, the whole premise seems to be to keep the lovers close enough to keep the viewers salivating for more yet keeping them separate enough to keep the viewers in eternal hope for the happy ending. Meanwhile, plot, logic, story, consistency can fly out of the window.

What gets me is how could an intelligent bunch of people like us (and I am not being facetious or cute here- the amazing analyses and creativity I've seen in this forum are more than testimony to this fact) have fallen for this trivialest of stories? And worse we've seen through it and yet can't seem to get off the seesaw.

All I want is for this silly MU to end and get ASR and KKG to be involved in a real story anchored in their relationship but not focused on it, Something that gets them to work as a
team,
Methinks, ASR and KKG would be great as an Indian version of House and Cuddy, or Castle and Becket or Jane and his partner (just can't recollect her name, sorry), but you get the idea. Anything that is not just empty romance, something more cerebral. I ask too much, I know.

But looking on the bright side I can say with hand on heart, that the posts and the people who've made them have been a privilege to meet, albeit in the cyberspace. They have given me immensse pleasure with their insights, humour and sheer fun.

That you Gitika for your POV. I love Creed by the way! I try to read most post and hear this theme many times in the last weeks. For me, most readers are not mad just hurting for characters that they love and feel are real to them. They have become family and have no idea what to do with all hurt and pain they are receiveing from CV. I wish I had the answer for us all. I do have something I wish to ask, I am new so patience please. Could CV taking this MU so long believe that if MU is solved the series is over? That just could not be true, could it??? If MU was over Monday, there are a lot of emotions that ASR and KKG still need to pick through. There is the story line of Anjali, baby, new romance, Lavanya is coming back, NK and the past that connect KKG and ASR. Just a thought. There are so many talented writers on IF, I so wish they could write for IPKKND.
Thank you for listening.
