A brilliant Topic...I seriosly feel that there is major problem with the scrip writers, the director, the producer and the channel...it seems like all are thinking london, tokyo, japan, russia which is leaving us viewers completely perplexed 😕...Holi Confession followed by 101 ways to annoy ASR and Wohooo the angry ASR is back again manhandling Khushi...I don't know how the story plans to move forward ...I think getting the leads married was an impromptu decision to gain maximum TRPs but post that the script has been weak. There is no consistency in the characters be it Arnav ...be it Khushi...be it Anjali...only Shyam is perhaps consistent and is using his brains...howevr the story really needs to move forward in a better way by not assasinating characters in such a brutal manner. Agreed that ASR was always the angry young man...but suddenly angry to lovesick then again angry...dunno where its going😕...I am not saying rush into things give RabbaVe moments and dance and conssummation ...i dont want anything of that sort...but if the story moves forward it should have a strong base. I don't watch a lot of serials but i have to quote this pakistani show that i watched on youtube- Humsafar (Courtesy-- Few Fans on India Forums), I really loved the way the story was taken forward and everything just fell into place brilliantly and Ofcourse everything made perfect sense as well.
For me A True Love story is the one where you cant stand having the leads apart and you want them together at any cost and circumstances arise where you desperately want them together...Here The show has everything...Great Actors...two Leads who create magic when they are on screen...but what seems to be missing is a Great Consistent Storyline (which was there in the beginning but smewhere got totally lost). Note to the CV's - do not experiment on such great actors you have...they are your assets...use them well and always keep a trump card with you rather than impromptu scenes and storylines which you know when to throw to just bring back the right attention of the audience:)!

btw, the reason Indian serials work when there is a lot of crying and victim mentality is becuase that is what the society is like... duh!

that is idealised - both men and women glorify it.. accepting sh** is considered nobility... and being resigned to your fate is the best way to deal with life.. its called fatalism and its the reason we have so many problems in our country

and it is a tiny percentage that believes that we should fight against fate... fight for what is right...
I believe that to have a character like this in itself is a revolution in India..

I thought India would have move on from that poor me or woe is me mentality????they still expect a girl to be virgin when she is married and be a good housewife???huh???what happened to women's liberation????
How about breaking the norm and being who you are???i dont mean be totally wild although if it works for you then go for it but i mean in a normal way...all the so called bahus cry, wear such heavy jewellery and just look mopey and worship their husbands...who treat them like crap...name one decent educated girl who will put up with that???
It makes us wonder doesnt it rita??

Bezella, I just watched Humsafar also, and you know what - I loved it and then recently watched it again and said WT?? the father said to his wife if you dont toe the line on my son's marriage I will walk out on you - so in effect in one sweep he took away her right to take a decision in her son's marriage (good or bad) and made her feel an outcast. the son played footsie with zara for years and clearly knew how she felt (see episode 5) and yet played around with her feelings and then when it was time to man up, threw out his wife... the only person with any self respect was the wife I think... and she too took 5 secs to forgive him pretty much.. this is the state of women all over!!

Coming to the issue of the show.. I personally dont have a problem with a consistent grey Arnav who is damaged, angry, ruthless, cruel, who reverts back to type in his progress towards becoming a better human being the minute he mistakenly believes in Khushi - and his anger and disgust and his darkness gets pronounced when he feels betrayed. that makes sense to me. My problem is a lack of understanding of what he is thinking, his lack of logic in managing Shyam or in keeping Khushi in the same house or remembering the Holi confession on both sides and then suddenly going back to thinking she loves him.. the lack of the visibility into his thinking is pretty frustrating..
Khushi on the other hand bounces every now and then from being this lovely, kind hearted, heart-on-her-sleeve, generous, loving, never say die girl to suddenly being this insensitive, jeuvenile girl with little self respect...

its not a major issue with the track really - a little bit of work on the script could salvage it at least for me...

So so so true what you just said, the fact is the story doesnt exist anymore...a guy who loves his sister ...thats great but what about the most idiotic MU????if you look at it from a 2year old's eyes it wont make sense at all...
They have great cast and brilliant actors and they are ruining it...see how many awards they get next year...they are cutting their nose to spite their face basically...i can do without the rabbe ve's too if i get a decent story that moves forward...then bring on the rabba ve's...what i was saying from the day they got married that clear the darned MU then let them confess the love, consummate the relationship and then bring other believable MU this time and other characters past and there are soo many things they can work on but no we keep getting this ridiclous track which normal thinking audiences doesnt like

Vibha, you said it. unfortunately if you look around today's generation, i was shocked to find many young girls think being a feminist is a dirty word.. teh fact that today we can study, vote, are free, have freedom unlimited is because of those feminist all over who fought for those rights..

anyway, regarding the crap that is worshipped... well, I personally find around me that women tell me that a good housewife is one who has her husband dependent on her for everything including handing over his socks, and accepting everything is what makes for a good marriage... the traditional household still expects that the good wife is someone who accepts everything with a smile. I am all for strong women who accept everything quietly with dignity only to bring about change by firmly getting things done or speaking up when its required v clearly (I have to admit the shrieking virago can be exhausting and there is much to be said about being a lady)

but there is a difference between silent suffering and strong silent suffering. Our country in general needs to understand the difference between the two. but I must say, I have understood after watching the SPA that the channel is trying to bring change but they are doing it at a pace that the audience can handle. I really do trust and respect this channel. I watched a few episodes of SNS and I have to admit that the message are there, but v v gentle and subtle to break in an audience that is v v hidebound.. I bet they will bring in some reovlutionary ideas in another 5 years hehehe...
