A couple of years back, folks from Bell Bajao campaign came to our school to sensitise us on domestic violence. As a tween from a loving home I was baffled at the idea of a mom and dad having a go at each other causing physical harm (I was pretty shocked to know that women beat up men too and ashamed to realise that this was not a "class" problem).
Now I get that IPKKND is a story about OPPOSITES. And I also get that it is a STORY. I also get that it is this COLD-HEARTED front that Arnav shows that ATTRACTS a lot of people and it is fundamentally just a FRONT. And I get that the chick is sometimes so KOOKIE that if I were her mum I would take away her TV privileges (my mom would do that!). I understand that the dude LOVES the chick inspite of all the hurt that he doles out. I completely buy the facts that he BREAKS HIS OWN HEART when he hurts this woman. I even know that this reckless, aggressive streak comes from some sordid PAST that he had to suffer. I get all of that. And frankly, I forgive the dude. I will still root for him in some way, and hope that by the time I am eighteen or twenty or twenty-five, he would have fought all his demons and overcome them. I will probably be still watching the show and saying, well done, yo!
But sadly, that is not my point.
I am seriously shocked that in a forum (presumably made up of mostly women, all of them much smarter and worldly than I am) how is it that people make flippant and pretty insensitive comments about violence. I mean, you can love Arnav Raizada, but saying things like "the chick had it coming", "she totes deserved it", "she is wrong too", "poor dude got a crick on his neck and she smirked", etc – now that is so totally uncool, man. Nothing and I mean NOTHING makes physical assault okay. No matter how much the provocation. No matter how brown your eyes are.
Please understand, I am not "bashing" (what an ugly word, yo!) Arnav, I am just troubled by forum posters (a minority, perhaps) who are so forgiving of one human dishing out physical harm.
I am not the judgemental sort, but this one time I am going to be, because it had to be said.
Apologies in advance if I hurt any feelings.

I do agree that forum is biased. CVs claim they have a love story, they show a comedy circus and we forumwaasi's watch as if it is BSs pole dance show and the show revolves around him . Agree the majority of the forum is bitten by the BS bug and will be biased in their judgement. I love BS as an actor and like him the same way I like sanaya. I am not biased in that way. I am neutral fan.

Having said that, I don't exactly bash yesterdays episode for domestic abuse. I don't think I need to. Because Since beginning abuse is the word that kind of defines Arnav-Khushi relation, emotional as well as physical. In the initial episodes itself CVs made it clear thar it is gonna be abusive.

Why the hell someone will drop a girl from the first floor intentionally without even flinching?
Why the **ck someone will dump a girl in the middle of the road in dirt at night?

ASR, yes CVs have done much to establish his character. He is dark and has dark shades dominating his portrayal. So CVs have their facts right. It is just us. Despite that we decided to watch it. We always had an option to leave but we did not. Personally I choose the show for it story line and I have enough maturity to separate reel and real life. So whenever I watch the show I understand the impacts of abuse, but It never blocks me from sucking the awesome love story.

When Shyams deception and murder attempts aired, did we protest saying that it is abuse (against anjali and babuji!!!) and should be stopped? No we did not. We hated shyam for what he did. I never see a post about abuse and the rightness of showing such villain-ism on TV. My point is , he is the villain and it is expected from him. Now when hero does it is unacceptable. Perception of hero is blinding us? Or are we being too judgmental to sit back and enjoy the show? It is not forgiving. It is about seeing fiction as fiction.
Since last 9 months, CVs have been serving abuse in a wrapped paper every now and then. Yesterday it was not even close to what he did on previous times and we crib now? We always have a choice.

But nice post and though I share a different view, Complete respect your view and angst on abuse as such.

@sree07 I am a newish viewer, so to me the abuse thing is new. And I know by saying this, I am opening myself to comments like, shush, you newbie, you don't understand the dude. Actually, I do. (Hello, Youtube videos, anyone?!) Like I said, my gripe is not so much against the character that is Arnav, it is more to do with forum posters who think that abuse is okay, so much so that they come ahead and say just that.

Also, each time I read BS, I always think 'bullshit' and I am like what are these people saying?! 😆

Sigh...
The problem is that the CV's idea of a dark character is what we are being shown now. They can't think beyond the grabbing and pushing.
In real life, this would be called abuse.
In the show, it's known as passion and intensity.
I can distinguish between the two so personally the show makes no effect on me whatsoever.
PS: I get your point and I remember the ad as well. It was a excellent one.

BS is such a sweet name and you made sure next time i read that I am surely gonna remember your 'bullshit' 😕. :)
forum posts... oh never mind. If you have patience to browse, you may even get a post like 'shyam is better than arnav'. So people has different views. It should hardly matter to you. Arnav khushi fights are funny on screen and lethal on forum. If it is me, I would not even bother to take a second look on those posts which I don't like...
