Amazing analysis!
I am just a big puddle of goo right now about this episode. Whatever passion was in the Diwali episode was equaled today in the poignancy of the confessions.
I absolutely loved the scene between Shyam and Khushi for one reason alone. Just like the day of the Sangeet - it becomes evident to the viewer that Shyam truly doesn't LOVE Khushi. Each time when she winces in pain, Shyam just continues to dig deeper.
However even in anger, anytime Arnav sees himself hurting Khushi - he immediately recoils/regrets his actions and tries to rectify his mistake.
That's love. That's the difference between Arnav and Shyam.
I really think that Arnav will start piecing the puzzle together now - one by one. The love that has been bubbling at the surface for these two is about to spill over, and the bhang was just a catalyst they each needed to voice the feelings that have been on the tip of their tongues for some time now.
I absolutely loved that it was Khushi that grabbed Arnav's hand first. She has every reason to hate him - yet she can't. I had mentioned this before where even despite all that he has done to her, she just can't stop loving him. In fact, I feel almost as if the Diwali loop has closed. She asked him about his feelings at that moment as well, and unlike then when he ignored her...this time he answered her question. I think they both know that they are in love with each other, but they just don't want to give these feelings a name. Because once you give it a name, you are forced to deal with these feelings and the fact that you have now given this person a power over you - an importance in your life, such that can cause you pain should they ever leave you.
I think that the misunderstanding between Arnav and Khushi will clear up soon - for Arnav at least. He will realize that he was wrong in his actions and he will try to rectify his mistake. However, I really do wonder what Khushi will do when she understands the true motivation for him marrying her. Will she believe that Arnav truly loves her, or will she think that it was all done solely for his Di?
I am glad that Shyam figured out what these two sleep in separate areas, because as you mentioned I feel he will try to goad Arnav or Khushi into confessing the details. And unlike last time when he rankled Arnav about his "relationship" with Khushi - I feel that Arnav will to put the pieces together of this monstrous lie. Either from a slip-up of Shyam or after a confrontation with Khushi.
The new tagline seems to point to a sidetrack of Payal's place in the mansion suddenly being under question, but I think that this will be the catalyst for Shyam to realize what hold Arnav has over Khushi keeping mum. He will try to use this to his advantage, but like every other flop plan he's had, this one will blow up in his face as well.
Even though I loved the poignancy/sheer tranquility in both of their faces after they vocalized their feelings. As you said - one loop closed. They have now understood the reasoning behind this "dhak dhak", but now the other loop - where in a CONSCIOUS state they vocalize their feelings? That has just opened. I actually don't even mind if they forget the confessions of today, because they've simply given name to the feelings that they don't want to understand. This was not truly a "confession" to each other, but more of a "confession" to themselves. They can't ignore these feelings anymore. Soon it will be time for them to admit them to each other.
