Has anyone else noticed this..?

Usually, people in west tend to go ' how cute' when accent from someone fair complexioned.. such as french, australian, british ( am in US), or south american even..
However recently it was so funny to see two different reactions to what was essentially the same accent from two brazilian friends of mine.. one a blonde got a 'love ur accent' and another brazilian friend of african descent.. got a ' could u repeat that a bit slower pls'...

agree.. with freida pinto.. she dislikes bollywood or most indian stuff anyway.. who gives a crap.. no one would pay money to go watch her anyway

agree with some people not putting on but usually imbibing accents.. usually happens to people that are good with languages and pick up languages and intonations easily

Firstly, well written post!
I'm unsure as to my thoughts so I'm deliberating as I type this. Alot of views have been put across and I have to say they're all pretty convincing.
Personally, I think yes Sanaya also deserves equal credit, they're both fab and an awesome team.
Like you said, females are the masses so Barun has attracted attention via different mediums, his acting ability etc. and I really am pleased for him too. I feel quite proud considering how big he is now internationally yet he's so grounded and it just makes me even happier for him for that reason.
Don't be fooled though, the attention works both ways. Barun's getting on the radio and Noreen's getting followers and a bigger audience for her show. So technically it's a win-win, the show is big and Noreen is loved internationally but Barun has given Noreen extra leverage, especially since "his world" she has been completely unaware of. As far as mimicking his accent goes, Barun is cool, mocking even if it is harmless won't change the fact that he really does have one of the best accents I've ever heard...besides it was a rubbish impersonation :P Nah, I don't have anything against Noreen, she is also another indifferent being, moofat but I don't think she ever means to offend :) All good.

We are mostly women, so we talk a lot about Barun as the male lead but we all know we love Khushi just as much as a character. There is no Arnav without Khushi and no Khushi without Arnav.

but that does not mean that Nina is any less popular...I am saying this coz I myself watch the show and recently Nina won the peoples choice Award for Fav. TV Drama Actress...

now the thing was she was not even nominated to begin with, but all of us fans bugged peoples choice award by all means ie. FB , Twitter and whatever other means possible...she not only got nominated but also won the award...

I hope to see something like this for a female actress in India...Sanaya deserves all the praise and even the awards...she herself said this in a very recent intv. of hers that it does not matter to her even if she does not win any award...she just wants to enjoy her work ! 😳

No offense to Noreen Khan fans. Im just stating the facts here and explressing my distaste. I know this attitude as I myself am living outside india and have faces this kind of 'imitation attempts'. Makes me have a bad taste in my mouth.

Mary - I know what you are saying. But please allow me to be a devil's advocate for a moment

Noreen is obviously not yet in awe of this matinee idol called ASR and is not so personally invested in Barun Sobti. From her perspective its just another guy whom a certain large subsection of fans just adore. I will allow her that. And there are many who are not influenced by ASR/Barun as others, because really there is no accounting for tastes.

In fact, there are so many within this forum who think women are unduly crazy about ASR-love. There are others in the forum who read and watch the posts and snicker because they think they are better than us crazy fans who have nothing better to do than write pages after pages about some screen idols.

And to tell you the truth, I've got personal hate messages from members of this forum who think I have nothing better to do than criticize CVs or write humorous posts laced with sarcasm.

So the world is not made up of same types of people. We need to let others live with their povs while we work feverishly to expand ours. Noreen may never be an ASR fan even after watching the show and may never understand what all the mania is about. I won't blame her for that because thats her sensibility and choice.

Hope this post is making some sense!
