Khushi let go of Arnav's hand and walked towards the sofa and tapped the shoulder of the person hiding there. That person turned around and smiled sweetly at Khushi.khushi kneels down beside her and takes her in to her arms and ask,
Khushi : hmm'So u were the one who broke the vase?
The little girl : yes aunty. I was playing and then 'slam!' it broke! It doesn't have any strength at all!
Khushi laughed at that thinking how the mischievous bundle was trying to look so innocent and placing the blame on the vase for not being hard enough!
Khushi : it's ok sweety, come
and she tried to scoop the little girl in to her hands..
Arnav: Khushi!!
At that khushi turned around and saw that arnav was scowling at both her and the kid and he strode towards them and asked her, "what were u going to do?"
Khushi: what?
Arnav: aren't u forgetting u r pregnant? U shouldn't lift anything heavy!
Little girl: I'm not heavy! My mommy says I should drink milk everyday so I'll be heavy!
And that diverted arnav's attention at the little bag of trouble as he had mentally named the kid as soon as he saw her while khushi rolled her eyes at him and said "I'm only 5 months pregnant, there is nothing wrong with me picking her up! Stop fussing".
And she continued to pick the little girl.
And arnav now a bit annoyed transformed his attention to the girl in khushi's arms who had her arms around Khushi's neck snuggling to her and had the nerve to smirk at him with a triumphant smile!
Arnav : why did u break the vase? Can't u watch where u go?
Arnav continues in the same annoyed tone and the little girl clutched Khushi harder,
Khushi : Arnav shut up!is this a way to talk to a sweet little angel like this!see u have scared her
And khushi said to the little girl, "oh don't be scared sweety, he won't do anything to u. he just like shouting"
Arnav scowling at the kid who was now openly grinning at him from where she had kept her head on khushi's shoulder.
'little brat. She just pretended!and khushi fell for that' thought an irritated arnav..
And while this happened everyone else had also come over at the sound of the noise, and looked over the floor now scattered with the pieces of nani's favorite vase.
Anjali called hari prakash and asked him to clean up the mess and khushi who was still holding the little girl who was about 4 years old was wondering whose kid it was and asked Anjali,
Anjali : oh khushi remember nani sent Akash to pick her cousin and his wife?
Khushi: yes di
Anjali: well this is their granddaughter!
Arnav : so where r her grandparents? Why is she here when they are not?
Khushi turned and said "Arnav!" she really was exasperated! trust her cantankerous husband to ask that! But oh well even she wanted to know,
Arnav: so what? I just asked where they were'
Anjali: ok ok before u two begin again let me tell, they had a small issue with their Australian visas to deal with and left her with us for a while. Actually she lives in Australia with her parents and she was visiting her grandparents. And as they are planning to leave straight after the wedding, they had to get it done today, so today she will be with us!
Saying this Anjali lovingly ruffled the little girl's hair.
Khushi happily smiled while arnav's scowl deepened.
And with that Anjali left them be and went towards nani who was beckoning her,
Nani: anjali bitiya that is the 3rd thing she broke and she even was trying to ride on Lakshmi when i last saw! and she has been here only for half an hour!
Anjal giggled and said, "ya she is a walking disaster!! But she is so cute!"
Nani: anjali bitiya I was thinking she must be bored as no other child her age is here, Akhail (PaYash's son) is too small to play and everyone else are adults.
Anjali : so what do u think we should do?
Nani: if someone can take her out for a while? What do u think Anjali bitiya?
Anjali: that is a great idea nani!i'll ask chote & Khushi to take her out! Specially chote is anyway not helping out with anything related to the wedding and khushi also needs a break from all the running around the house..plus nani I think they'd like spending time together and it'll be good practice for them with a kid!
Said a grinning Anjali remembering her chote's earlier reaction!! 'aah'someone is gonna be spitting mad' thought anjali and she started walking looking for all the 3 people she wanted to talk to.
In the meanwhile Khushi had carried the little girl with her in to their bedroom and now the two of them were sitting on the poolside with their feet dipped,
Khushi: sweety what is ur name? u didn't tell aunty..
"my name is Zaina" lisped the little girl while Khushi was smiling happily at her.
And this is what Anjali walked in to. And she looked around to see a completely bored Arnav leaning against the wall and said, "I was getting worried cz I didn't see Zaina anywhere!"
"oh di she was with us all the time!! Aww she is so cute!!" squealed Khushi squeezing the cheeks of the little girl who was having a great time in the pool.
Anjali: oh that is great u already get along with her, cz I came to ask for a small favor from u two. Her nana and nani called and said they were stuck at the visa office and can't get away until late evening. But the thing is there are no other kids around and Zaina will be so bored. Can u take her out with chote?
Khushi: but di what about the work here? There is so much to do!
Anjali: oh don't worry about that Khushi there r so many people to help around here, but the little missy here needs some looking after and it is more important. So can u take her out? Chote?
And hearing everything that was said, Arnav promptly said, "me? No way! I have so much work to do! And di u r asking me to go with them?"
Anjali: oh really? So did u help with any decorations or any other thing since morning?
Arnav: I went shopping with Khushi!
Anjali: so go out again with her! Only difference is this time not for shopping!
Arnav : nope still the answer is no
Anjali: chote I don't want to hear anything else, go out with them and spend time and come back around night time. It will do u also some good to get used to a small kid.
Khushi, also keep a careful eye on her ok, she looks so innocent but she is really a handful.
'oh that i don't doubt..' thought a disgruntled Arnav..
Khushi: oh don't worry di, we'll have a great time together!! Won't we shonu she kissed the little girl's cheek
And Arnav on the side thought, great she has been for here for what? 5 minutes? And how many times had Khushi kissed her! She hadn't even looked at him from the moment she met the little brat!
Anjali left them to arrange whatever they were planning to do and left as there was still a lot of work to be done.
Khushi: sweety my name is Khushi and that is Arnav uncle. Arnav?
Khushi called out and looking at her expression,
Arnav : hi (not at all interested)
Khushi: so arnav where will we take her?
Arnav: now how am I supposed to know? You were the one who agreed to this!
Khushi: u r useless! Ok let me think, hmm'IDEA!! We'll go to the beach!(assume there is a beach nearby lol )
Arnav: ah good idea! Only u could have thought of such a bright thing as going to the beach at noon when it is burning hot and that too with a hyperactive kid.
Khushi: so if u r so bright give an idea! Zaina sweety where do u want to go to? Shall we go to the mall? Amusement park?
Zaina: Khushi aunty I went to all of those places with nani when we were in Laknow
Khushi: but beta this is Delhi and may be they r different?
Arnav who was listening to the chatter sarcastically asked, "what about the zoo?"
Zaina: oh that is great! Can we go to the zoo? I have never been to a zoo aunty! Mama & papa told me they'll take me on my next birthday, but can we go today pls!!
Khushi hearing that started laughing while Arnav could only say, "what the'" as he had just said it sarcastically and the little brat now wanted to go to the zoo!
Khushi: ok arnav let's go! It was ur idea after all!
Arnav: what the..khushi are u crazy? The nearest zoo is about 30kms away! And the traffic is heavy we'll never make it before tomorrow!
Khushi: oh don't be a spoilsport, it is only about 12 and we have the whole day!remmeber di asked us to stay out till late, so this is the best idea! So get the car keys and let's go! And saying this khushi got hold of Zaina's hand and started walking out of the room.
Arnav said some colourful expletives under his breath for his own stupidity and followed them out of the room.
Precap: how much trouble can u get in to when u put together a pregnant lady, hyperactive kid and a zoo?
