I am from Chennai and I know there is a Phug Phere rasam after marriage in North India by watching Hindi serials. I had also posted after the wedding where will Kushi go for a Phug Phera Rasam and I asked for suggestions. Some said Devi Maiyya Temple. I really want to know the significance of this Rasam along with the Mhuk Dikaiyi rasam. Why is Anjali insisting on it.

One of the most important post-wedding ceremonies is Pag phera. It is being followed in all types of Indian weddings. During the Pag Phera ceremony, the bride has to stay at her parental home for two or three days. But before that, the bride's brother generally comes to take back her to his home. When the ceremony ends, the groom come for taking her better half and seeks blessings from her parents. On the other hand, the bride's parents offer some attractive gifts to their daughter and son-in-law in the name of shagun as this is her first visit to parental home after the big event.

The ceremony of Pag Phera has its significance for the bride. In India, the girls are considered as the Goddess of Lakshmi and thus the bride comes back to her home to ensure the best future of her parents. The parents too can give some attractive gifts to her daughter such as jewelry, clothes or apparels. The groom is also being given with wonderful presents to bless him.
