But Hey This Was very Well Thought and Analysed !! She Indeed is a very Complicated person !! But Jow Less are Other Family members ? Arnav - Complicated...Khushi - Complicated ..Manorama- Most Complicated ...Naniji---Complicated ...Bujai - Hell knows here has her Character Like Sajjan singh in the starting of Epi's Vanished Now !! So COMPLICATED ...Rest Are Negligible to me !! So That's It !! Once Again - B'ful Analysis .And Great Hun ...you did HATKE !! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Anjali is such a complex character with so many layers to her. No one can tell how she will react at any given point of time. An excellent analysis of her.

I would like to share some of my views as well...
- Like you said, Anjali does have many layers to her. We know she is handicapped and has gone through some trauma in the past. But she has a lot of emotional scars from all that and they have not healed. Its like she has covered all that by over-indulging in prayers and her concerns for others around her. We the audience and the people around her see her good and cheerful nature and so her emotional scars are not noticed at first glance. This is why her actions/reactions are misunderstood a lot of times and why people find some of her reactions too exaggerated or abnormal... but the truth is her life experiences have made her very complex and sometimes the things she does and says cannot be just viewed in a one-dimmensional manner... there is always a deeper matter in it.
Most definitely. That is exactly what I was attempting to convey with the analysis. There's another meaning to everything that she says and does. A double-meaning. For instance, what really struck me in the scene between her and Arnav after her accident was the way that she said: "Jo chale jaate hai na, Chote, woh kabhi wapas nahi aate." If you don't look at the undertone of that comment, then it would seem as if she was only encouraging him to go for happiness, his girl. But if you delve into the way in which she said it, and the way she touched him, it would seem that she told him "people always leave, don't trust".
Which again isn't intentional - she isn't manipulative that way. But it shows that she does not believe in her own words about moving on and finding complete happiness.
- And the point you mentioned about Anjali's selective nature...I agree. At times Anjali is way too quick to notice things like the time she noticed Khushi is not happy with her engagement or like the time she sympathised with Khushi's broken engagement more than the Guptas did. Plus she is very sensitive to negative emotions. But on the other hand, she is totally clueless about Shyam. And I guess she blocks away certain unpleasant things that are too much for her to handle. Again, I guess all this stems from her previous trauma.
Word. Exactly. Despite all the signs given to her at the time when Khushi's ring had gone missing (and even before when she met the jeweler who told her that Shyam had bought a ring - the same ring that she saw on Khushi's hand), she blocked it out, suppressed it.
In addition to that, I find it strange that she once said that Shyam took her hand when she was in a bad condition - as if what he did was some kind of a "sacrifice". Ever since, they (the entire Raizada family) have treated Shyam like some kind of superior being - a savior who isn't to be questioned.
Shyam's character, for that matter, is just as fascinating to me.

@bold: You have brought out a nice point there... Anjali does have some inferiority complex. She really does think that Shyam has done a great favour on her by marrying her. And this could be why she seems to turn a blind eye when Shyam is concerned or block away things against him.
It would be nice if the CVs reveal later on under what circumstances did Shyam marry Anjali... that would explain a lot.
And thanks for your reply...😊

I am dying to know about Shyam and Anjali - how they met, how they got married. I'm really dying to know about Shyam's past too. LOL. Hoping that the CVs will reveal something.
Don't thank me 😳 Thank you for reading my long post and responding with an elaborating answer πŸ˜ƒ

not to mention that she was clueless about Arhi's attraction for each other...πŸ₯±
Umm... She does not really impress me much. but you and the maker of the post have made some good points.

Brilliant analysis Elysia...πŸ‘...πŸ‘...πŸ‘...πŸ‘
Loved your analysis,...bang on...suc a beautiful insight to one of the most complex female characters we seriously hv come across...frail yet strong...timid yet determined...lovable and the foundation of the RM family...
Its like you have put in words most of my thoughts...Arnav-Anjali relationship is the cruz of this story...they both are inter dependent yet have their own mind...there are lots of layers to the character yet to come out ...
And I too believe she is no dumb woman who has not read the signs of her husband's actions...its just that she has selectively chose to ignore them...lovely take dear !!!
