This concept of the forgiving sacrificing bountiful woman has been drilled into us for centuries. Mythology is replete with stories of women having to prove their integrity and faithfulness. I don't want to stir up controversies by dragging examples but the one thing I strongly feel that if the roles had been reversed and it was not Sita who had to prove her purity/chastity then things would have been different. Forget India all over the world men are threatened by women and it manifests itself in some ugly form or the other. As long as we are treated as commodities that can be sold, properties that can be bartered and mere tools to be used in mind games of men then this form of unjustness will continue. Again this is what I repeatedly keep addressing here in the forum we are our own worst enemies and we cannot afford to trash our own gender because we want to prove a point. There will be so many out here tonight who will justify or defend his actions and that is a sadly deplorable fact.

For the record defending your own gender does not make you a rabid feminist.

P.S.I dont know why the term feminist has such harsh connotations today probably some fundamentalists/extremists good PR work😊

@pacsun

I think they may quickly go through this current phase in quick possible time. One reason being TRP's as no one wants to watch a show with too much of the dark side on display. Viewers want drama melodrama but extreme melancholy can also put off viewers plus Barun Sobti who is a heartthrob for many females also will think of his image and may not go to an extreme that may lead to some tarnishing of his poster boy status so there is some hope😊

As the spoiler post mentioned we just have to grin and bear it this week so I am definitely going to catch up on half read books projects and what not

Maddona Complex I believe as opposed to the machismo...again they are two sides of the same coin...we tend to vasilate between the two...
feminist ...I think conjure up the bra burning women that did go over board a bit ...but then to make yourselves heard...you need to retort to some extremes...
but again it was the ethnic women or women of color that came up with the opposition to the more popularly known form of feminism (gender vs gender)
Sita did ultimately walk away...does that make her a feminist (tongue in cheek) taken back by her earth mum who could not stand the injustice any more or stay silent...
what does this reflect on our Khushi and DM

@LadyLa La
I sometimes wonder if the CV's will also take that route and we may have a track where she starts to use her head just when he starts to use his heart. This show is all about the extremes and a literal Ground Hog Day scenario happening most routinely. How else can you stretch it for another year😊

@Tangam

Yes the other being of course the s**t is how men would perceive women- to be either of the 2.

I sometimes also think it was a backlash by some vested interests of the political kind that gave feminism its bad name.

We have so many versions of the Sita story with one happily ever after, one going back to her Earth mum etc and there is one interesting version on the internet on the life of Sita but that is never brought into the equation. Her trial by fire is what is used as a common test of fidelity and chastity even today in movies national serials vernacular serials/magazines points of debates and an example of a good wife woman and mother in conservative India

@Thangam

Lol it is Arundhathi the ideal hindu wife, living in perfect harmony with her husband, and the embodiment of all the virtues that a married woman should possess. Indeed, as part of the south indian (Hindu) marriage ritual, the newly wed bride is shown the star

Anarkali was the famed girlfriend of the Mughal emperor Jahangir

Loved ur post!
if they had not shown ASR taking Khush in to that temple...and got married to her...I would be also thinking that they have really killed the character ASR!

But No...ASR has just Risen...This time With Arnav in him guiding him!

I loved it that he took the Sindoor and the Mangalsutra which was at the feet of the Deity.. whom she Firmly believes in...who occupies her soul...He made Sure that it happens at the right place...A place that is filled with divine power...and faith...This is Arnav!Subconsciously...he wants her to believe in this union as much as he does only thing He is not able to understand it,...

As u rightly said...he is goin to be Back at the feet of the almighty..at the same temple...grovelling...asking for his Khushi...Till then i am totally prepared to see the battle which ArHi have begun against the evil and they Don't even know it!
