I made a commitment early on, if I can find 10 minutes to read someone's written work, I can surely take 10 seconds to respond with a comment. It no doubt took them a great deal more time to write the fanfic on Arhi so that's the least I could do after enjoying it.

Sign and reply to make this pledge for the sake of the writers. If we are busy at work, we will at least "like" it or remember it and comment later. If we are putting in the time to read at work, we can spare some time.

So this is my commitment to the writers. If I read your work, I will comment - not just like. Even if it is an SS, commenting once is not enough if the story is doing a good job of keeping the reader hooked.

The lack of responses is worrisome, not to mention saddening for writers.

I completely agree with you!

It's disheartening to see so many views and a handful of comments/likes.

Constructive criticism is welcome as well!

I always either, 'like' and/or comment on a story I read!

It hardly even takes a minute, but it definitely puts the biggest smiles on my face to see a nice, lovely comment! :)

Exactly. It's only logical. Can't be busy to write a comment when spared 10 minutes to read the story. I will always comment.

Totally agree...I always comment or like n will continue to do so
They take so much time in writing and even more time in sending pm's..
So I also think they need appreciation and just expect a comment in return...

totally Mary. The amount of time and work one puts for a Fan Fic is huge. And we write for our own satisfaction but every writer looks for compliments and appreciation.
when you don't get enough of what you initially expect from the readers, it's disheartning. the least they can do is to like the post.
But is it too much to ask to write a short comment if our work really did please them? Don't we earn that much from our readers?

Agreed... a comment may be too much for all works... but like is atleast expected... BTW the "Like" button was on strike for some time ... hope it keeps working !

I pledge the same😳

Whether its a FF or a VM, both take a long time. A like/comment makes it the hard work worth it.

As a writer, I'm never looking for just compliments. People who criticize my work pointing my weakness make just as happy as those who say they enjoyed it. I write to make my friends smile here, and when its responded with a short comment or like, it's as if they are smiling back.

@Mary: Thank you. A wonderful post👍🏼

Why would it be too much if someone bothered to read the whole thing anyway? I think it will be the least anyone who bothered to read the whole thing. The comment does not have to be praise. It can be a criticism. The writers here won't mind, I promise.
