It's strange how life can mock you.
She is walking towards her own doom, head held high with her eyes blazing. Yes her doom and she knows it. yet can she do anything about it?
Lets try to put ourselves in Kushi Kumari Guptha's (no not Kushi Singh Raizada yet) position for a few miniutes shall we?
Her sister's happiness is at stake. Her love of life had taken a complete 180 degree turn and asking her to get married to him, for six months. She knows what awaits her after these six months.
She has no idea about Shyam-Arnav encounter. She doesn't know the motives behind Arnav's actions.
She must have pondered the reason for this and the only one that must have come to her mind would be that he needs her for his physical pleasure for six months and then abondon her. He had been charming to her for the past few days. A girl will easily take his advances as lust after this sudden and gut wrenching proposal. Else why would he want to marry her for just six months?
he's going to end the marriage after six months. Yes end it in such a way that she would not be left with anything.
what was she going to do after he divorces her? She would be a diviorced woman, a rejected woman in the eyes of the society. A woman who had lived with a man.
So without even signing those marriage documents, she knows that he would leave her after six months. So when she agreed to get married to him she also knew what awaited her and had accepted the inevitable. She knew her fate and silently consented for her own destruction.
Whats more painful? Dieing a slow painful death or watching and waiting for it untill it finally arrives?
Another marriage is the only option left for her after this but even then she will always be a woman who has been married before. The prospects of her being able to find another man is very slim considering the conservative background she comes from. Her family will reject her, her husband will have already abondoned her and she would be left on the streets trying to fend for herself. All these thoughts must have flashed across her mind.
In other words, she had watched her future, her life's happiness, the dreams she wove from child hood slowly collapsing in front of her eyes.
Yet does she have a choice to stop this predecamant? can she refuse? yes she can but at the cost of her sister's happiness. And the Kushi we know will never forsake her sister.
So does she really have a choice? No.
She willingly let go of her future, the dreams she cherished for the singular purpose of her sister.
can a woman make this much of a sacrifice, let go of her ideals and dreams for her sister's well being? yes she can and she had done it. That's how she has become Kushi Arnav Singh Raizada now, an empty soul with the main essence of her life drained out.
Will she ever be able to return back to that carefree Kushi of the past?

Beautiful post ! And I sure hope so ! I love the old Khushi, your post is so heart wrenching, it's like watching as someone you know turns to dust

hopefully Khushi won't have to suffer through the aftermath of her decision, Arnav will find out before then and grovel and beg until all is well :)

thank you! i just felt so much for Kushi and what she must be going through right now.
True ASR will apologize and kiss the ground she walks on later, but some damages are irreversible and what Kushi must be feeling right now probably could be felt by a woman and only a woman.
I just wanted to put words to her thoughts.

A Kushi in reality will never be the care free Kushi again...the girl will forever walk on egg shells. Life have been sucked out of her before she even began to live life. Sure she did a blunder by not revealing Shyam's truth to the Raizada family but what else do you expect from a young girl who has been burdened with tons of responsibility and has no solid support system to fall back on? Even if later ASR worships the ground she walks on ...she will be a wilted leaf with no prospect of life.

But this is a fictional show and the writers will unfortunately make her forgive and forget and eventually give her a happy ending. So much for Iss Pyaar Ko being an unique show eh? 😆

Very well thought out post!

Hi Hiru lovely post.

Yep for all that talk of immaturity that Kushi is always associated with, how much of maturity and strength of character is needed to knowingly walk to ur doom. The Kushi that we know and that we love (atleast most of the time) is forever gone. We might get the Kushi that forgives, but Shyam and ASR have forever taken away the trust of the young girl who looked for the best in people and who could find a silver lining in the darkest of the clouds.

ASR has successfully taken away the essence of KKG and will no doubt be very successful in making her KSR.

It just kills me how her optimism and carefree attitude and her joy of being a free-spirited, vivacious 18 year old girl (still a teenager) just got sucked away in few episodes.

The CVs are going to have to maintain her character before the wedding for us or I fear this show is going to become incredibly painful to watch in the upcoming weeks.

You summed it all up Hiru, she's willingly (not that she even had a choice) put a full stop on her life, her dreams, her everything, for her sister. It would be really twisted if she did continue life with a fake smile and laugh, no Khushi,NO! She deserves that time to herself, she deserves to be sad about her circumstances and not be forced to play happy families when she's dying inside.

I don't know if she will ever be truly happy again, the care-free girl. I think once the mess about why Arnav n Khushi married is sorted, she will be forced to feign happiness. I don't want her to, I want all to realise that something inside this girl died the day she married. I want there to be support in her corner and for Arnav to realise sooner rather than later his big mistake!
