I loved this poolside encounter...somehow, I got the feeling that they were really saying "I love you too" when they said I hate you...such ferocity, such passion can only be the byproduct of the most intense love...indifference, or worse can never lead to the emotions we saw today.

And he got exactly what he was dreading ---- this is probably the first time she has verbalized hate as an emotion that she has felt for any person --- not even shyam.
I believe the CVeees are setting up the stage for a future track. Even after the misunderstanding clears out, he will have to earn her trust, her respect back --- his redemption would be a lesson in humility too, which he has none right now. OOO how i love these characters!!!!
And maybe, as you said, love & hate are intense emotions --- you feel those for people that matter!!!!
