Arnav - After everything this man went through, he hid himself in his ASR shell in order to protect himself for further pain. He became cold, unfeeling towards the world but loved his Di and cared for his family as much as any man could and never allowed himself to love and be loved by any outsider. After all these years, he finally lets his guard down and falls for a girl with his heart and soul. He is apprehensive at first, but later accepts his feelings and decides to confess. The moment he goes to express his feelings, he finds the girl in another man's arms and the man turns out to be none other than his brother in law; a man his sister practically worships as the ideal husband.
What will he think? Will he be shocked, walk away, be enraged or stand there to witness what happens next? After all these years he started believing in love; he pondered on his sisters words. Her sister and her husband's love for each other have been exemplary for him. If he finds out that his BIL's love for his di was a lie, will he still have faith in love? Or believe the girl he loves?
Can he be blamed if loses his capacity to think rationally? Can he be blamed if his anger takes over? Can he be blamed if he misunderstands?
Khushi - She is a straightforward, righteous girl who is never afraid to speak her mind. She has made a huge mistake by not exposing Shyam. It was wrong but her intentions were right. She has always answered back ASR, pushed him, spilled hot tea on him when she thought he held her dupatta, but has she ever encountered a psychopath? She knew Shyam had feelings for her but could she imagine what extent Shyam can go to? She wasn't expecting Shyam there, she was shocked to see him, shocked at his shameless confession that he loves her despite being married and that the fact that he does not care about his wife. She was visibly frightened after hearing his threatening tone and seeing his menacing glare. When he hugged her tight, it wasn't a hug, he was squeezing her. She fought for while, tried to get him off but later she gave up. Maybe she took a minute to think what to do. Maybe she was so shocked that she didn't know how to react for a while.
ASR walked in at the wrong time, misunderstood what he saw, and heard the wrong words.
KKG said the wrong things at the wrong time...she was fighting Shyam but gave up at the wrong time.
Did ASR know KKG went to the terrace to meet him? No.
Did KKG know ASR would come there after she found out the message was left by Shyam? No.
They both became victims of an evil, psychopath.
As for KKG words....chhod dijiye Anjali ko. Tod dijiye yeh rishta. This may sound wrong but she had a point. Shyam kept saying that he loved her and not Anjali and tried to convince her since the time Khushi and the Gupta's found out. We know that Shyam married Anjali for her money and wanted to keep two wives. KKG doesn't. We know that Shyam never intended to get a divorce; he planned to kill Anjali so that he can inherit some of her wealth. KKG doesn't.
So maybe this is what KKG thought'..If Shyam really doesn't love Anjali, why is he still married to her? If he really doesn't love Anjali shouldn't he just end the marriage instead of lying to her that he loves her? Does Anjali deserve to be betrayed this way? Isn't it better for Anjali if he leaves her?
A request to all ' Please don't call it Shyam-KKG hug because it wasn't. What Shyam did was practically abuse. KKG wasn't hugging him back. The hug didn't ruin KKG's character sketch because it wasn't from her side. Yes it lasted a bit too long (blame the director, editing team)'..it was probably done for dramatic effect.
