I don't know what is going on in the forum, but I was thoroughly and completely insulted by a multitude of posts out there. I am usually pretty lax about things, but I am mother flipping pissed right now. And when momma gets pissed - she lets it out.
I like to have discussions - ergo on a discussion forum. Brilliant, no? Yes. Moving on. I can discuss a character and their flaws and their reasonings, or lack thereof without getting personal or prejudicial. I never bring up the actors' capabilities because both Sanaya and Barun have proven their mettle. Sad to say, not so with many folks out there.
When I was posting my point of view today, many people posted and surmised that my reasoning is based on the following - not only mine, but a great many other members who happen to be Barun fans and ArHi fans -
1) you are a drooler and therefore think with your salivary glands and not your brain
2) you defend (even though no one defends, just explains ASR's actions) ASR because the hero is hot
3) you are a woman against a woman
4) you forgive everything of the hero and have double standards
Excuse me. Do not insult my and the other women's intelligence in this forum by accusing anyone of doing the above unless we have specifically stated that the only reason we are saying what we are saying is one of the above 4. It's an insult and quite frankly, if this wasn't a virtual medium with a code of conduct, I would have ripped a few new ones today (yes, I have an ASR streak, maybe that's why I understand the character, who knows), but refrained. Well maybe I got snarky in one or two posts, mea culpa.
For the first 120 days of this serial, I wrote about ASR and explanations of his behavior because he needed a lot of explaining and was being thrown under a bus most of the time -sometimes deservedly so, sometimes not. I did not once defend his actions. I did not once justify any of his actions. If members do not know the difference between defending and explaining, then get on it because it saves the conversation from getting personal.
Right now, it is Khushi's time for explanation of behavior. And from what I have seen, many agree that her character needs a little work from the perspective of internal dialogue. It doesn't mean we are against women, and I do not understand why the hell everything has boil down to he did so she has to, men versus women, ASR versus KKG. Talk about the characters and what you really believe. Have the courage to say this was out of character. You will not be any less of a fan. Hold the CVs accountable for writing a good character.
We are creating nonsense here. No one is against women. No one is thinking only with their salivary glands. Please a little respect and stop the damn knee jerk reactions. Take the time to read and respond. No one should be afraid to post what they think and no one should be insulted for it either.
The forum survives on the tone we set in it. Right now, people are hiding from it.
