That the television industry has become huge and might soon be neck to neck with the film industry is no surprise to anyone. But why has it come to this? Is it because the plots are very different or the reach more wide? To be very honest, the plots are not path breaking then what is it that is attracting scores of viewers, increasing the TRP's, driving sites like India-Forums and keeping us so hooked. My answer is: Top Notch Performances!!!
In the past there were many couples who stole our heart. Very recently, a show that ran for a year and a half bid adieu to us along with the channel that it was aired on. There was a hue and cry about it ending and I thought maybe I might not see that magic again. How very wrong I was!!! Ladies and gentlemen (how many of you might be here), I give you Barun Sobti:

I remember seeing him as Shravan in Baat Hamari Pakki Hai and being impressed with his goofy and lovable role. He shared a good chemistry with Sanchi and left a lasting impression which was the main reason that I really looked forward to Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. I think my expectations did not do justice to him.
Barun has been steadily raising the bar of our expectations from television actors but last night, it shot through the roof and reached the skies. I do not think and cannot imagine any other actor doing the scene the way he did it last night. Despite seeing the shot of him being mean to Khushi and in a sense deserving the plight that he witnessed last night, we still cried with him. Each and every movement, nuance and breathless moment was captured in our heart.
It is not easy to connect with people this way but in these last 8 months Arnav's characters has engraved a place in our heart. It is the main reason why we could feel his pain so clearly. Anjali's words resonated all around us, 'Agar tum usse door jaane ki koshish karoge na, toh tumhare saansein ruk jayegi.' The connectivity... Wow... I mean super wow!!! And Arnav enacting her words to us... Speechless!!!
Keep it up Barun Sobti!!! You are truly the Big B of the television world for me and I will wait for the new twists and turns in store for us!!!!!!!!!!!! With bated breath and an oxygen mask... Woh kya hai na, aap jab screen par aate hai toh meri saansein bhi ruk jaati hai...
