So the reason I didn't analyse the kisses in my episode analysis' is because I really didn't want to bring negativity to the forum and to members who did enjoy both of the kisses. But I know some people wanted to know my opiniong and now I think you've had enough time to swoon over the kisses so here we go :P
Arnav's kiss I was unsure about at first because it seemed to me that a kiss on the cheek was such a non-Arnav thing for him to do but then I started to like it more. For me it seemed like Arnav was trying to show Khushi that she didn't need to be afraid of him. If he had kissed her properly all he would have done was prove that he takes liberties with Khushi even when she's unwilling but a kiss on the cheek (and especially with his tone of voice) was more affectionate and considerate. He also gives her an escape route, if Khushi hadn't have nodded her head saying she could do whatever he could do I doubt Arnav would have gone through with the kiss. Although he does follow Khushi out of the room he stays at a distance, giving her space and time rather than demanding his return kiss straight away.
The reason I didn't like Khushi's kiss was because unlike a lot of other people I actually thought it was out of character. This is a girl who despite being deep in thought about why Arnav paid her father's hospital bill and why she hugged him still wouldn't let her friend (at the time) hold her hand and instantly came out her Arnav-induced reverie to snatch her hand back.
I also found it odd the way Arnav also just stands and watches while Khushi kisses Anjali, Nani and Mami. He's a smart guy and he seems to have the kiss challenge on his brain the entire day and mentioned in once again only a minute ago. If it was me, as soon as I see Khushi kissing somebody, which she's never done before, his mind should go into overdrive and wonder if this is a plan, if this is some way of her getting out of it or showing him up and would expect him to prepare himself in some way but he just stands there.
Before the episode aired I was sure Khushi would either kiss him willingly, as in 'anything you can do, I can do better' type or not kiss him at all because 'I don't need to prove anything to you, I already won the sangeet and you didn't do what I wanted so why should I do what you want?'
So to me it just seemed like a cop-out way of getting Khushi to kiss Arnav and slightly out of character for Khushi. I mean she is affectionate, we have seen her hugging Anjali and Nani before and we've seen her get caught up in the moment before (hospital hug and holding Arnav's arm during Payal-Akash) but there was nothing in that scene beforehand for her to get so swept up in the moment about that she not only kisses Mami who she knows dislikes her but also a guy (irrelevant of who the guy is). Khushi wasn't even willing to measure some models for her job, was unwilling to show any type of affection to her fianc and yet here she is kissing somebody after having apparently got 'swept up in the moment'.
Today's episode was also a complete disappointment. If you missed Saturday's episode you could almost believe that she hadn't even kissed him judging by the non reactions from everybody including Khushi herself who I thought should have been more flustered and awkward especially around Anjali and Nani. She doesn't need to be as flustered around Arnav because she's sort of given him an explanation with the bet thing but I still would have expected some dhak dhak and some embarrassment on her part when they came back for the havan.
I did like the mirroring contrasts between the two kisses. Where Arnav's was slow, thought out and pre-planned (at least by the time he said 'can you do what I can do?'), Khushi's was impulsive and completely unplanned. Arnav's was in private, no extra characters, no extra decoration at the poolside but Khushi's was in full view of four people, in a romantic setting. Both take place by the poolside and both end with Khushi running away, however it changes from the kissee running away to being the kisser that does the running away.
Anyway, those were my thoughts, hope you'll let me know yours :D
