Honestly, if there is is a best villain category, Abbhas totally wins hands down. Realize something, guys, he is a villain to NO-ONE BUT US, and (recently) to Babuji- each and every nuanced evil, every expression, every deed has been honestly shown to the audience while his true evil has been the GOOD face he has presented to the rest of the the characters in the IPPKND world.
We hate to see him on screen because we know, we will see another facet of this man no one else will, and we feel some of the frustration and helplessness of Babuji in watching this man just spin and spin. To make us react the way we do, to feel the helplessness that Babuji does, Abbhas has really given his all to this role. I feel worried for him as an actor, this is such a defining role, he IS Shyam Jha, and I hope he'll still get other characters to play later on after this show is complete!
But the real fantastic acting is that, in being OUR villain but the ANGEL to the main the characters in the story, he has really showed what a nuanced actor he is. Today, he really did his character justice, the the shift in expression, body language, the way he froze, the way he reacted...ooofff...his really mesmerizing performance today was truly the mark of a fantastic actor.
By the way, an old complaint- I really do feel Abbhas has been wasted by the CVs of this show, because Shyam started as such a nuanced, interesting character, and they had such a great actor in Abbhas, they could have done a character study of Shyam as a dysfunctional, conflicted adulterer. Shyam could have been a kind of parallel to ASR, who is the evil version of ASR- both in love, one controlled, one uncontrollable.
We would have accepted him as a villain, and understood him more, he could have even earned redemption down the road if he had not been turned into an irredeemable man who paralyzes and terrorizes an old man. Sigh. Pandering destroyed your potential Oscar, Abbhas.
