Arnav, the man who spoke of professional and personal...who claimed he didn't know about feelings...just proves that when it comes to her...all this theories just fly out of the window. He cannot stop himself, and he cant control the care and the concern. Especially when shes in distress
Haan...Farak Padta hai
His building panic is evident as he questions her and she doesn't answer, he slowly goes down to read her emotions off her face. His voice now changing again, each time he says her name...a request...to tell him whats wrong..
He steps away to give her the space, she clings to him to close the distance. As he consoles her, shushes her, giving her hope that whatever it is...it will be OKAY...almost as if he says that it will be okay, cos i am by your side. I shall be your rock for how ever long you want to cry, i shall be your shoulder whenever you need it. He touches her (he initiates the contact...its probably the 2nd time after the ME..when he does to provide comfort) , firmly but softly pulls her up...and stands with her...whtever it is...this too shall pass...
Farak Padta hai...every tear...every shiver...every pang of sadness...
It strikes him then, and it kicks in his protective side. The one thing that he cant factor in her life, that entity which threatens to take her away from him. That is what is causing her pain. His anger immediately returns, this time not at her...but FOR her...He needs to know now, if shes hurt, if shes scared. The look he gives her...its clear, no one can get away from causing her pain. Had the fianc been standing there, it would be the last few seconds of his life. No one Messes with his Khushi, and definitely not some chump who is trying to take her away from him.
Haan Farak Padta hai...leave aside the fact that these two are not marrying each other...hes still engaged to someone else. She will still not be his and he will never proclaim his love for her. But He will never in his wildest dreams want to see her unhappy. Her life was to be shared with someone else. He tried making peace with it, he tried real hard. He tried needling it out of her, he subjected her to insults...she didnt answer in words he wanted...her tears made him stop.
When he questioned her few weeks ago as to why she was doing this...to him...to herself...he didn't really get an answer...she couldn't really give him one. Point is...there isn't the need for an answer.
He didnt need that answer today to feel the urge to shield her from the ugly and eliminate it from her life. She didnt need to answer , to turn to him in her real dark hour and just let go of the wall.
Their life as muddled at it may be, as cluttered as it may be...with all the other characters around, friends family, siblings, parents...in the greatest hour of need these two will only see each other...and only reach out to each other. They are what the other deserves, but cant have right now.
To end with...i come back to Arnav...Cos he made the episode what it is today. EPIC.
I will modify something that is from one of my fav movies...but suits him to the T...
