Khushi was emotionally vulnerable, fearing that she may lose her foster father. Having gone through the loss of her parents she could not bear to face the prospect of losing another parent too. Seeing Arnav, she runs into his arms, seeking comfort and support, forgetting that only minutes back he had thrown her out of the car for no apparent reason. She knew that if there is one person who can understand her pain and be there for her it is him. Arnav felt every ounce of her pain as it seeped through her tears which stained his pullover and his heart went out to her. He helplessly closed his eyes when she said that she was completely broken and couldn't find the appropriate words that could console her. He did come back the next day to make sure she was alright.
November 17th
This time it was Arnav who was emotionally vulnerable, desperate to feel his mother's presence around him. His mother's words as spelt out in the letter written to his prospective bride made him wonder whether she was happy with the changed man he was now. So sensing Khushi's presence near him, he asks her if their parents really turn into stars, his eyes transfixed on the starry night sky. He had forgotten that they were not on talking terms and only minutes before she had irritated him. He did not elaborate on why he was asking an un-ASR like question for he knew that if there is one person who could understand what he was going through, it would be her. Understand him, she did, and she explained to him that it was not a question of whether it was true or false but a question of faith. He showed his acceptance of her explanation when he posed his next query as to whether his mother would be happy to see him. She felt the pain in his voice, saw the moistness in his eyes and her heart went out to him. She helplessly looked away for she couldn't answer his question. She did check with him if he was alright before she left.
Common factor in both the scenes- Khushi was in her aquamarine dress. In fact this dress seems to share a strong bond with Arshi as she is in it in all the emotional Arshi moments, whether it was the scenes mentioned above or the pool-side apology of Khushi scene when Arnav smiled indulgently at Khushi for the first time or the candle scene where Arnav saves Khushi from dropping the candle on herself, unaware that La tripped and fell right next to her. The last mentioned scene makes me wonder whether Arnav will rescue Khushi from Shyam at the nick of time before she destroys her life, by getting married to her, forgetting that La has been left in the lurch.
