The nine girls had been fed and given their gifts. Now Khushi just had to keep them busy till that Laad Governor came and then she would escape before she saw him again and her heartbeat went crazy!
Khushi: Chalo bachiyon hum chupan chupai khelthay hai. Theek hai! (Let's play hide and seek girls, ok!!)
Yay all the girls yelled in agreement. Khushi locked the door to ASR's room so none of the girls would end up there.
Khushi: Chalo phir shuru karthay hai, 1,2,3 go! (Ok then let's start, 1,2,3)
All the girls went to hide in different corners of the house, some went to the poolside and hid behind the many plants while others hid behind the various sofas and furniture in the house.
While the girls were running around finding places to hide, Arnav had called the house and told Jai Prakash he was going to be home in five minutes. Jai Prakash went to Arnav baba's room with juice and a tablet for his headache. He found that the door to the room was locked so he opened it and place the glass of orange juice and the tablet on the side table. Jai Prakash heard Nani call him and he left ASR's room with the door ajar.
All of the girls had found their hiding spots now, except for the most mischievous of the lot, Drishti and Sri.
Drishti: Sri, where should we hide?
Sri saw the open door to ASR's room.
Sri: Dekh kitna bara karma hai, didi won't be able to find us here.
The went and hid underneath ASR's bed. The model for the project was placed on a coffee table in front of the bed and it had went untouched by the girls so far.
Khushi on the other hand was going around finding all the girls and she noticed that only Sri and Drishti were missing.
Khush: hai Devi Mayya! Yeh dono kahan gayin ab toh Laad Governor bhi aanewala hoga!! (Oh Devi Mayya, where have these two gone, the laad governor must be coming back now!)
Anjali yelled Khushi's name
Anjali: Khushi ji pooja ki sari tayyarian hogayi, bring all the girls to the mandir. (Khushi we r ready for the pooja, bring all the girls)
Khushi: Ayi Anjali ji..Khushi told all the 7 girls to go to the mandir while she set out to find Drishti and Sri. (I am coming Anjali ji..)
Khushi noticed the door to ASR's room open and she peeked inside dreading that he had come back! But her heartbeat was still in check..she felt over her heart..that meant he wasn't around!! Thank goodness she thought!
She called out the girls names and heard giggles from under the bed.
She told them to get out from under there and when they did they almost knocked down the model from the coffee table.
Khushi freaked but she reached over and pushed it back on the table just in time.
Khushi: Chalo tum dono mandir main jao hum atay hai. (You two go to the mandir i'll just come) As the girls left Khushi made sure the room was just as ASR had left it.
As the girls were leaving out of ASR's room he was entering the hallway around the corner to his room!
Arnav: What the?! He said seeing two little girls run out of his room!!
He hurried over after giving Jai Prakash his coat and tie.
Khushi was relived that everything was fixed before Arnav had come.
Anjali screamed from the mandir: Khushi ji ajayie vrath torne ka waqt ho chukka hai. (Khushi come it's time to break the fast)
Khushi: Ayi Anjali jii...(I am coming Anjali ji.)Khushi stopped midsentence as she went her heart beat start racing again!! Hai Devi mayya yeh kya horaha hai?! (Devi Mayya what's happening)She felt her heart and then felt her hair flying in the wind. *Rabba Ve* She thought.."Aisa toh tab hi hota hai jab woh.."(this only happens when he is..) she turned around lost in her thoughts and came face to face with Arnav!!
Her eyes blinked and her mouth was left open wide!!
Arnav was angry and he looked at Khushi!
Arnav: Tum kya kar rahi ho yahan!! (What are you doing here?)And these girls what were they doing in my room?!
Khushi: Woh..hum..aapp..(umm me actually i was...)Khushi kept feeling her heart and couldn't even hear what Arnav was saying..yeh humain kya horaha hai (What's happening to me?)..she thought out loud.
Arnav: What are you saying?! And why are you behaving so weird lately?!
Khushi: Woh hum jatay hai.(Ok i'll leave..).she tried to escape but Arnav closed the door.
Arnav: itni aasani se nahi! (No so easily!) Tell me what were those girls doing in my room!! What if they messed around with my model for the project. You know how much hard work I spent on that..he said yelling and coming closer.
Khushi: Dekhye aap dur se bhi baat kar sakthay hai..hum..humaray paas mat aaiyay,. (look you can talk from afar..don't come close to me..)
Arnav: WHAT?! Tumhari problem kya hai. He said coming closer..(What's your problem?)
Khushi: humne kaha na paas mat ayie (i said don't come closer) she said her heart beating even more crazily now. She kept taking steps back and was about to make the model placed on the table fall. The model was on the edge and about to fall.
Arnav: Khushi!! Arnav yelled and she moved aside and he leaned closer to her and held the model before it fell!!
Khushi looked at the model and heaved a sigh of relief!
Khushi: Hai Devi mayya yeh kya honay wala tha! (oh Devi Mayya what was about to happen?)
Arnav: Khushi Kumari Gupta..he glared at her..ek toh tum mere kamray mein baghair meri permission ke ayi, upar se meri koi baat bhi nahi sun rahi!! He screamed and was coming closer.. (first you come to my room without my permission, then you don't listen to one thing i say)
Khushi couldn't take it anymore, first her erratic heartbeats and his yelling she started feeling lightheaded. In her head his words stared to mix up and his face started to become a blur. She felt herself falling.
Arnav: Tumhe toh apni jagay kabhi samaj hi nahi aaeygii.(You'll never know your place!).he saw Khushi about to fall down..Khushi!! he yelled and grabbed her by the waist. She was limp in his arms and he didn't know what to do. He looked around for water to put on her face but only saw juice on the side table.
He grabbed the glass of juice and them slapped Khushi's face lightly "Khushi, Khushi!"utho, Khushi started to open her eyes lightly.
Arnav: Khushi thum theek ho, yeh lo, (are u ok? take this) he put the juice to her mouth and made her drink it.
Khushi was too lost in his eyes and she didn't even hear what he was saying! All she heard was her crazy heartbeat!!
After she had taken in a few sips of the juice, she heard Anjali call her name!!
Khushi: Got up quickly from Arnav's arms and her mouth was left open!! Hai Devi mayya!! Yeh kya hogaya!! Aap aap se humne kaha tha na door rahiye..humara vrath humara vrath..she started whining and crying! Kyun kiya apne yeh?! (Oh no how could this happen! What did you do? i told u to stay way from me? My fast..my fast..!! Why did you do this?)
Arnva: KYA?!! Ek toh help karo aur upar se thank u ki jaga yeh sab?! (What, first i helped and instead of thanks i hear all this!)
Khushi ran out of the room and Arnav was left starting at her.
Arnav: Yeh ladki pagal hogayi hai..aur mujhay bhi pagal karday gi!! He shook his head! (this girl is crazy and she'll drive me crazy too!!)..(and he drank the left over juice as he pondered over Khushi's changed behavior 😉 (suggested by fj08)
