One of the hottest topic of discussion...difference between ASR and Shyam!!

Okay first of all its still not clear why ASR despises the idea of marriage. So far we know he does not want to get married to La or to anyone else for that matter...or at least he claims to do so. So picturing her as his wife or to allow her to perform the duties of a wife is impossible for him.

As for the live-in relationship, he was not prepared for it. He never really showed any interest in living with La in first place!! the idea wasn't his!! When nani pressurized him for marriage and asked him break up with La he put his foot down and wanted to move out of the RM. if he really moved out, would he have actually gone to live with La? ...we do not know. Maybe he would have just to prove a point to nani.

But what exactly are the duties of a wife and a live-in girlfriend? What defines it? what exactly can a wife do and live-in girlfriend can't do?

SEX is a big question here!! the actual status of their relationship is never made clear...we do not know if they share a platonic relationship or they are physically intimate with each other. Yes there is comfort level but it could be due to familiarity. but comfort level is mostly from La's side and not ASR's!!

This is what i think is the biggest difference between ASR AND Shyam!!

Shyam is fully aware of his actions and feelings. His every move is calculated. He has loving and beautiful wife. So far we have not seen any evidence which shows that this relationship is strained in any way. So why is it that he is attracted to another woman? Why is he ready to go to any lengths to get this woman?

Shyam is lying, cheating and leading a double life.

ASR on the other hand shares a dysfunctional relationship with La. ASR does not love her. He is cold and uncaring towards her. Even though he is in a live-in relationship with her, he shows no interest in getting physically intimate. La is clingy, submissive, clueless and complete doormat. She does not know what to expect or what should be rights in a relationship. In a way, they are both clueless and immature and not ready to be in serious relationship (wth each other) at all.

ASR is developing feelings for Khushi but he is not doing it purposefully. He is driven towards her but he is not sure what drives him. technically he is not being unfaithful to La.

hmmm a very good question and you answered it yourself, right now ASR is a very very confused soul. Poor guy the mighty ASR is losing it big time, as he said Kushi Kumari Gupta nay uska dimaag karab karkay rakhdiya, completely. Sorry now back to the topic on serious note. This is what I think, as you said Arnav is right now completely confused. Remember before Lavanya used to do some of these things like tie kolna, jacket adjust karna etc but he never had any problem with that but rightnow dressed up as Chamkili she is behaving like adarsh pativrata nari, which he never expected from her. Actually while watching I am getting annoyed with her chipakali behaviour and he has to go thru with it, so he is letting all his confused thoughts frustration on her.

About the Sex part, I don't think he is into it actually. from the beginning Arnav never intiated any physical intimacy with Lavanya, he was perfect gentleman except when it comes to Kushi he loses his gentlemanly behaviour and manhandles her (but we love it isn't?) That live in thing was Mr.Jijaji's idea, and I believe Arnav thinks Lavanya as a good friend (we have seen it other day after she falls from the stool), their mindset was similar until ofcourse Ms.Kushi completely altered Lavanya's thought and mind you its not for love she is changing. This girl still doesnot know what's love is all about, she is doing all this so that Sharanya and her twin won't come in between them in the future. Its high time now Lavanya realize and make her exit from Shantivan.

So in conclusion, ASR wanted to be Single all his life, Lavanya was just a friend(but as she is a girl, she became his girlfriend) and then Nani interfered with marriage proposals, Jija suggested Live in, and there entered ever so vibrant, lively, innocent Kushi with all her traditional ways changed even thoughts of Lavanya, which is driving Mighty ASR go nuts.

I just have to say this that from the beginning Arnav was truthful in saying I don't believe in marriage and he did strike the deal with lavanya that's what he keeps reminding her. "that why are you doing this, you are not my wife and you never will be".

So there is no way we can compare ASR with that Slimeball who lives in falsehood every turn of his life.

phew... I really don't know what I wrote but jo bhi dimaag mein aaya mein nay likh diya. hope it made some sense.

She hid behind the door, hands covering her open mouth, when she saw Arnav striding up the stairs towards his room, where she had Lavanya all decked up as a bride and waiting. 'Now what', she raised her terror filled eyes towards Lavanya sitting sedately on the bed, not looking up, as instructed by Khushi herself a couple of minutes ago.

'Today, he is going to kill me,' Khushi thought of possible escape plans wildly, closing her eyes finally and saying a prayer to her devi mayyiya. There was no place under the bed too for her to hide… and the poolside door was too far now, as she heard his footfall near the door.

Still with her eyes shut, as if blanking him out of her vision would make him go away, Khushi's skin tingled, as felt him enter the room. She opened one eye apprehensively to see his back to her stopping short of the bed where Lavanya sat.

As predicted by Khushi, he stood motionless for a few seconds, taking in the sight. And as also predicted his first words were 'what the…' as he stormed closer to the bed with a loud 'LAVANYA'… that had Khushi rooted to the spot in fear.

'What is this new drama, Lavanya,' He barked at her, as Lavanya also moved back in fear sitting on his bed. She stole a glance at Khushi from under the veil, but found her also wide eyed and rooted to the spot behind the door.

'I told you this morning I don't see you as my wife … and now THIS!' he continued, his head bursting. He was going get that Khushi Kumari Gupta for this, even if it was the last thing he ever did, he swore under his breath. But for now, he needed Lavanya and all her bridal finery out of his room … he needed some peace and quiet to get his throbbing head back in order.

'Didn't you just hear what I said, Lavanya …' he spoke in a deathly quiet tone now. His 'GET OUT' that followed was loud enough to have Lavanya scurry on to her feet and run out of the room, the embellished dupatta falling back from her head in a glittering pool near the door.

Khushi, chanting her prayers feverishly, watched his tense back as he stood still, legs a little apart and fists clenched. She tried to tiptoe out of the open door, before he could turn around and find her there, and stepped on to the bridal dupatta. She gingerly picked up, intending to return it to Lavanyaji on her way out … if she ever got out that is!

Don't let him turn, don't let him turn, she kept chanting, but devi mayyiya was in no mood to listen to her it seemed. It was the exact moment that Arnav turned to shut the door. Her first instinct was to hide, and in a childish gesture, Khushi took the dupatta and threw it on herself to cover his face from him. Arnav stopped, his arms on either doorframe, as he saw her standing against the wall. Through the net of the red bridal dupatta he could see trepidation flitter across her face, as she watched him slowly shut the door and turn towards her.

She could feel the fury in his stance as he came and stood inches away from her trembling frame.

'Khushi Kumari Gupta…' he began through clenched teeth … Khushi shut her eyes tight against the onslaught that she knew would come next. 'Oh, why did I have to interfere in their relationship again', she scolded herself, waiting for his next words.

'Look at me, when I am speaking to you,' he bellowed, his hands coming up to remove the dupatta that was coming between them.

He lifted the veil revealing her pale face, eyes shut tight and lips quivering with fear. Arnav stopped midway, his body suddenly relaxing, as he set eyes on her. Words that were forming next on his lips just stalled as he stared open-mouthed at the picture of loveliness that was in front of him.

Khushi waited for the offensive words to hit her any minute now. Silence … silence? She wondered… had he had a heart attack, with all that screaming and getting angry… she opened her eyes slowly raising her chin a little to look up at him.

Looking straight into those chocolate brown eyes, Khushi's heart missed a beat at what she saw there. He was staring at her enthralled. Whatever it was that he was about to say was gone … lost …

As they stood there lost on each other's eyes, Arnav unconsciously slowly continued to lift the rest of the dupatta off her head and Khushi could only stare back, fascinated at the play of emotions on his face.

It was when he had the dupatta removed completed, and clutched in his hand, that Khushi broke away from his eyes to look down shyly.

ASR has shielded himself from every thing that could possibly hurt him or his position as the self made man...

nani hounding him put him in a dilemma and he took the easiest way out that was shown to him by dr.evil...

like i said somewhere earlier in my first reply... lavanya unfortunately was used as his tool, we all may abhor the thought...but thats what has happened...and initially it was harmless enough till nani gave up and he could go back to wherever and maybe send la packing...

so for him...la was there...nani was there...shyam's brain was thre...perfect fit...beyond that naa kuch socha...na kuch samjha...which i believe is where his fault lies...

i just hope khushi has been a good enough influence on him to make him see how hes actually mistreating la... she has told him time and again ki hes being unfair...and im sure it will strike home someday...

it would be good if tomo she gives him a piece of her mind and stands up for la...forcing him finally to come to terms with the soup hes put himself in...

or maybe la can ask him abt whts going on ...ok i think ive rambled way tooo much :)
