There is a difference between knowing a language and how you speak it. English is her second language - one that she is casually picking up. Those of us who speak or have learned a second/third language most likely have accents when speaking - it certainly does not make us dumb.
Her spoken English affectation is a further characteristic to demonstrate the difference in worlds that Arnav and Khushi come from. Perhaps Arnav used to speak English like Khushi, and has learned along the way.
