Taqdeer

PART ONE

It was loud and a busy place at the Gupta's residence. Servants rushing here and there with food , flowers and what not. Seemed as if there was going to be a wedding held.Gayatri was roaming around giving the flower men instructions.

Gayatri: "Oo ji ! Suniye, aap please vahan paar aur bhi lagaye na? bohut zyaada simple lagraha hai." ( she walked near another worker who was decorating the staircase) "Ouuf, aur aap? Kya karahe hai? Yahan pe gulaab.."

Pankaj walked in the room when he heard his wife complaining while he was on the phone .Gayatri turned as she felt someone's presence.

Gayatri : "Dekhiye na. Pehle toh paise bohut mangte hai aur upar se yeh..(picking up garlands) saare galat tarike se lagaraha hai."

Pankaj : "Gaaa..yaa"

Gayatri: "Aap kuch kehte kyun nahii?"

Pankaj : " Gayatri..*chuckles* tum kuch zyaada hi tension lehrahi ho. Tumhari BP high hojayegi. Phir?..mera kya hoga saibaa..?

She blushed when he placed his firm hands on her shoulders after cupping her face.

Gayatri: "Chaliye, choriye aap" Turning all red like a tomato.

Pankaj laughed , so did Gayatri. Gayatri was still wearing a stress look on her sweet face.

Pankaj : " Abb kya hua ji?" he wondered.

She walked ahead of him . He came behind her reading the worried look on her face. His hand rested on her left shoulder. She slightly looked on her left and then looked back straight.

Gayatri : "Khushi ko shayad kuch bhi yaad nahi hai. Uski saath jo kuch bhi hua. Hamein batade na chahiye..aapke kya rai hai jee?"

She turned to face him with a sad face. Her smile was gone as she broke down feeling terrible hiding the truth away from her.

Pankaj : "Gayatri . Khushi humari 'Jhansi ki Rani ' hai.Usse koi farak nahi paregi. Fikar mat karo."

To change the atmosphere he got into his joking mood.

Pankaj: "Oo jee tum na, koi tension mat karo. Main yahan ki baatein sabhal ta hoon! Tum rasoi main jao. Shayad vahan rasoi main kuch zaroorat ho?"

Gayatri came back to the world where she had to stress for her daughter like's marriage , and agreed with her beloved. She smiled, and walked away recalling all the work that had to be done.

Pooja was giving instructions because the chefs were all very much upset with her bua ji. She tried to get the situation under controlled, but failed. Out of anger Pooja raised her voice because she had enough of the argument.She started to give instructions in the kitchen. She was furious, muttering words as she walked out of the kitchen towards the hallway. Gayatri saw Pooja fuming and rushed towards her.

Gayatri : " Areeyy, kyaa huaa? Itna shor kyun?"

She tried listening to Pooja, but there was so much chaos she had to block her ears with both hands closing her eyes, hoping it would stop anytime soon.

Pooja :" Mama, abb dekho na. Bua ji unn sab paar chilarahi hai.Saare tang achuke hai. Kab se samjhane ki koshish karahi hoon ki unn logo ko unnke kaam karne do. Lekin nahii !.."

She nodded her head, because of the annoyance her Bua ji has been doing. Gayatri tried to calmly explain to Pooja but yet had no words. Bua ji at that moment stepped out of the kitchen eating ladoos.

Gayatri : " Shanti di, aap mere saath aye"

Bua ji : "Gayatri. Dekho na! Koi aapne kaam nahi karahe hai. Aur maine sirf chai mangete.Saare mujh par bharak gaye.Pata nahi kahan se aye hai yeh log. Yeh Bhola bhi na.. uska toh main khabar lungi! ( Pointing her index finger in a rage of anger due to the cooks behaviour)

She tried pulling her away. Listening to her complain she looked in the opposite direction.She made her sit on the chair she usually sits on.

Gayatri : "Shanti di, aapko diabetes hai. Aapko meethai khaney se maana hai, aap.."

Bua ji : " HAN ! HAN ! tum HAMESHA mujhe tokh te ho. Iss burape main, mujhe aur kitna tarpaogi? LO! Tumhari meethai."

She handed over her sweets to gayatri. Gayatri looked on her both sides, fed up of her always misunderstanding her and putting words in her mouth. She decided to avoid, and left.
