Lakshmi, I actually think this is very much in character for ASR ... the physical expression ... I would call it physical EXPRESSION of the emotional bonding ... not just physical attraction ...

Many men, especially the ones who are the strong silent types ... and that probably goes for the vast majority of men ... do NOT express their feelings in flowery language. For a man, physical closeness IS a manifestation of emotional bonding ... they'd rather die than be caught saying soppy stuff or getting emotional 😆 And ASR is very much the strong silent types ... he would not be like Shyamu going on and on about being the ultimate support, and lighting up your life and bringing you happiness, Khushiji ... he would just go ahead and DO what was needed ... like paying the bill for her dad ... or fixing her ankle even if it gave her pain ... and he would be far more comfortable doing that than saying "I love you".

And now he is attracted to Khushi ... not just because she is beautiful and is looking ethereal and stunning in red 😍 (my mom totally freaked out on Khushi today ... couldn't stop raving about her looks) ... but because of that emotional bonding they have developed ... and because he has come to see that she is not the kind of girl he thought she was, but to see her for what she really is ... and that is who he has fallen for.

But the kind of situation they're in, they can't become friends ... too much social difference, too much gone between them ... they can't start talking happily and easily to each other like La and Khushi do ... so this emotional pull finds expression only as the way its been shown ... an awareness of each others' presence, the constant need to keep looking at each other, as though they're searching for something ... and the need to be physically close. So I find it very logical and natural. I think their feelings will remain unspoken but understood ... like they were today ... its pretty obvious now that they both know the attraction between them.
