Misti, this is my favorite song from Umrao Jaan and it was a very poignant scene of the film where she finally reached her home and yet was rejected by her family. It does fit Jyoti. Ok...let me think of scenes for this one.

My next VM: This one is the from Astha's POV. I have used the song "Unbreak my Heart" by Toni Braxton.

I have titled this VM "The Broken Heart". Now even though this song is from Astha's perspective, I ended it up on Shlokie bear - don't know if that was the right thing to do or not for this song. But I don't like unhappy VMs and so I usually end it on some positive note.

Following is the quote that applies to this VM.

The Heart Was Made to be Broken - Oscar Wilde

Also I found a small poem that applies to Astha in context of this VM.

Broken Spirit - Amy Adams

Bound eternally,

To a man I now distrust.

Forever tied,

To a man who broke my spirit.

This man,

Once the most important

Person in my life,

Has conspired to destroy

What remained of my soul.

Misti, thanks. I was thinking of some betrayal song because of that scene during the sunset when they parted. But nothing came to mind and then I ended up using that scene for Shlok's song. This week I was listening to this song and suddenly the SR scene came to my mind and I ended up making it.

Also I finally saw when Niranjan saw the emotions in Shlok's eyes (you posted it in your comments in one of the threads) when I used the last scene. He was definitely not happy.

You know another scene that I want to use is Shlok drinking so cruelly in the end after the SR scene. I just need to figure out the scene where I can use it. That is one of my favorite scenes as it was a very chilling scene.

Angie, this one is so beautiful..with strong emotional scenes and the song is really a nice touch..I liked the fact that you let the main conflict be heard before the song started well..i love the way you are making a story with ur evry vm..This singer has many others romantic numbers that can be used for romantic scenes but this song is perfect for aashlok as in a way they are putting the pieces of their broken hearts back together..

My next VM is "Call of the Siren". This is based on the song "Yeh Raat Yeh Chandni" from the movie Jaal (Trap) (sung by Hemant Kumar - one of my favorite singers and written by Sahir).

In the movie, the hero is a very grey guy who seduces and traps the female lead for his own selfish reason. The girl's father figures out the guy and tries to warn her, but his charm is too strong for her to resist. So in this song, he is calling her to come to him and she is resisting but can not resist in the end.

So the VM is based on the time when Shlok decided to trap Astha and she initially resisted, but got trapped in the end. I used the quote because Shlok in ensaring Astha got ensnared himself. So I have also used some scenes where he is also mesmerized by her despite his efforts to resist her.

Myra, thanks for liking it. Yes, I have listened to this song many times and suddenly one day when I was listening to it, Astha's SR scene came to mind and then it started from there. And then I wanted to combine it with Astha's beautiful memories (though they were fake) and the heartbreak afterwards.
