Have been observing shlok s character from day one f the show...his entry was in Ferrari, he shows to b handling educational institution, he himself is so educated but the kind f dialogues given to him goes against the suave businessman personality...if v see Niranjan, varad or Vinayak, no matter how upset or angry they are they always talk in calm composed manner in a public forum and also otherwise...whereas shlok s dialogues like yeh oh hello madam and bad joke seem more f avinash to me ( seen his way of talking in off screen segments) than shlok...dint cvs think about this??? In any other serial, when they show businessman whether it was arnav, maan etc even in anger they never came down to taporigiri way of talking..somehow that thing s amiss in shlok s character..I think avi needs to work towards it and get a different body language...just my thoughts ...

Agree, for a suave businessmen he should act more mature. But we should remember he is a angry young man...in your anger you can't be suave, can you? And this week everything went not according to what he has planned. So, he is very irritable 😊

I concur.
It is one's home environment where one first learns manners, etiquette, and how to behave in public or private. Then comes education and global travel or experiences, wherein one either polishes those features or if lacking, learns them.
Those other 'businessmen' that the TM mentions displayed that 'polish' to their characters, and Shloak definitely lacks it, right from the beginning.
It is not just language, but one's body language and attitude also, from the way one sits, stands, walks, even in private, and the way one talks, the language, the speech patterns and tones of voice used. Shloak as a character is severely lacking in all these areas to portray a savvy businessman.
Shloak has an abusive home, to be sure, but the abuse is reserved for the women, and in any case, it is certainly not a house that has open fighting, vulgar language, and fishwife-type screeching everyday.
In fact, as a contrast, I have always found NA to come across as very polished, suave, and debonair.
He ought to have been the hero of the show. He portrays those qualities extremely well.
I am sure the script read: rich suave businessman, and the interpretation was left up to the director and actor.
Sadly, the interpretation is singularly lacking in sophistication.
Having viewed some of the actor's interviews off-screen, I agree with the TM that it is likely the actor's lack.
Crass and uncouth are the words that sprang to mind when I first started watching the show and that impression has not changed.
It is high time the actor cultivated some of these qualities that make a sophisticated man. If nothing else, at least he ought to learn enough to portray it convincingly on screen.

Dear Sweety,

I completely disagree your thoughts...i had watched the other characters whom u mentioned...have u watched their offscreen moments with their co actors...spraying water, pulling hair..do u think those acts r dignified...Shlok is a character which is build like that...whatever is on his screeplay he portrays that...how cum u compare it with any other characters...his character is very unique n he portrays it with complete sincerity...if that is what the writers have given him he got to enact it...and talking about his offscreen moments i think he is a well behaved actor who gives interviews with lots of dignity...

anger and not handling situations well has been part of his personality since day one...he changed when he was romancing aastha before marriage but as he said that was part of an act...i agree that honeymoon segment (last 3 episodes his character, dialogue, and manner of speaking has changed)...but then half of us think its great and half think its not with character...its important to noter aastha is his wife now and behaving differently to her is not necessarily out of character

Here again...

Hello Jayne,

i totally disagree...Do u think people born in a poor family environment teach their kids how to behave in public or private...i seriously think they have time to win their butter n bread...it completely depends on the person learning from real life.
Those other 'businessmen' that the TM mentions displayed that 'polish' to their characters, and Shloak definitely lacks it, right from the beginning.

Shlok is a character which is build like that...To my knowledge i don't thinkso Mr Sachdev never writes his own screen play...i think it's the writers job...whatever is on the screen play he enacts it...and he putting his heart n soul in this show is the best compared to the characters or so called "Buisnessman in anyother show.

Do u think just speaking American accent only shows u as a buisnessman...sorry...that is what people fall for...any guy who works for a BPO can easily do that...take me as a example..i studied in the US and iam working with Americans..i totally forgot the oxford english ...anybody could easily get this accent...u pay $20 n get a book n dvd from Amazon n learn it man...that is not important here...how to play a character with justification..that's important..and i think Shlok alias Mr Sachdev has played it,n playing it very well...
It is not just language, but one's body language and attitude also, from the way one sits, stands, walks, even in private, and the way one talks, the language, the speech patterns and tones of voice used. Shloak as a character is severely lacking in all these areas to portray a savvy businessman.

Thanks for accepting this.

Again i disagree with you..i have also watched the other so actor's off screen moments..it doesn't seem he graduated from UC berkeley..spraying water on the co actor, pulling hair is that very dignified or maybe his accent looks more dignified...comparing this i think Mr Sachdev is the best at his off screen moments...unlike other actors whose wiki says they completed graduation and so...but our hero completely accepts to pursue his dreams he came to mumbai at his teens even though his parents wished a lot for him...i like his truthfulness...have u watched his previous show...How dignified he portrayed it...so whatever the script reads he enacts it...and he is on his best...and by the way i hate this comparison...but when people write it i wanna give back...
Crass and uncouth are the words that sprang to mind when I first started watching the show and that impression has not changed.
It is high time the actor cultivated some of these qualities that make a sophisticated man. If nothing else, at least he ought to learn enough to portray it convincingly on screen.

Please never be judgemental about an actor's capability...and especially Mr Sachdev..it doesn't go well for people who adore him.he has proved himself as a dignified actor in his previous shows as wellas this show...the intense in this show can never ever be compared to any other show...he is a complete versatile actor...never ever under estimate anybody..who knows tomorrow he might be the finest actor ruling the country or maybe the best director as per his destiny..I really don't know why this kind of posts catches my eyes first...since it's a public forum anyone can write their views i have come back with whatever i think since i complete adore him here as Shlok Agnihotri...

One thing for sure he is a Director's boy n enacts the scene as per his captain...

We are talking about Indian businessmen here. I don't think all businessmen act uptight with their families as well. Shlok uses taporigiri only with Aastha, which means he feels most comfortable with her. What's wrong with taporigiri? I use it with my kids and they laugh. It's fun. My husband sings potty songs in front of me but he is considered very respectable by outsiders.
