In any other serial, when they show businessman whether it was arnav, maan etc even in anger they never came down to taporigiri way of talking..somehow that thing s amiss in shlok s character..I think avi needs to work towards it and get a different body language...just my thoughts ...

Dear Sweety,

I completely disagree your thoughts...i had watched the other characters whom u mentioned...have u watched their offscreen moments with their co actors...spraying water, pulling hair..do u think those acts r dignified...Shlok is a character which is build like that...whatever is on his screeplay he portrays that...how cum u compare it with any other characters...his character is very unique n he portrays it with complete sincerity...if that is what the writers have given him he got to enact it...and talking about his offscreen moments i think he is a well behaved actor who gives interviews with lots of dignity...

All I m saying is on screen acting and not off screen...I never said I don't like his acting but there s issue with character sketch f shlok...I told his dialogues r delivered as if avinash were speaking and not shlok who is supposed to b sophisticated ...i m sorry but u dint get my point...

In terms of offscreen, u r talking about barun sobti and sanaya...I have seen off screen it was always sanaya all over him being over friendly and barun just kept quiet as Delhi guys r like that...

Initial if videos showed even avinash putting his hand around shrenu and that's just being friendly...ever since his breakup rumors started and some ppl even started cursing shrenu which is unfair...he became cautious which s clear in recent segments where he always maintains distance...remember jungle shoot video where he was busy playing temple run and his chair was away from shrenu...shrenu s fun loving and she has no such issues...it's just guys who become conscious due to media and rumors...

What's wrong with taporigiri? I use it with my kids and they laugh. It's fun. My husband sings potty songs in front of me but he is considered very respectable by outsiders.

Not just with astha, he speaks rudely with his mom and also sojal...he can ignore them if he don't like, but he talks in very derogatory way and surprised that Niranjan don't say anything bcos men in house can talk to women any which way I suppose...varad doesn't like sojal but if u see clearly he has a way of talking to her in terms f dialogue delivery and body language..u never feel its Samir sharma...

Fans just jump to wrong conclusion when post is made..myself a big fan f show and I m just being honest in terms f certain honest opinions...

I understand what you are trying to convey but I feel that shlok is more real than other characters you mentioned😊. People don't act the same way with all the people in their lives. Shlok is being himself when he interacts with Aastha. His interactions with kavya and Jyothi are also pretty relaxed. Coming to his rude behavior with Anjali and Sojal, I'm sure he has plenty of good reasons for it.

Me and my brother are poles apart though we had the same upbringing. So we cannot compare shlok's behavior with varad or niranjan. He is a different person altogether.

Sweety1985, I agree that Shlok's style is different from Niranjan/Varad who come across as more sophisticated.
But they are showing Shlok as a different character than Niranjan who is very suave but a manipulative brute. Everything about him is hidden even for his main family members. Only Anjali and Vinayak know about his evil nature. Varad too is a hidden personality who does not show his emotions. He is shown to be a person of few words who keeps his emotions in check. In fact, he is a very cold detached personality and hence his style has to be cryptic.

Shlok on the other hand may be manipulative but everything about his emotions is open. He is extreme in his hate or attachments (Swati, Astha, Niranjan in no particular order). He is more like Anjali who is actually a more crude person. Because a person who uses crass language (with Sojal, Astha, Kalindi, Ajju) cannot be called a sophisticated person by any means. Shlok takes after her in emotions, loyalty, attachments and crudeness. Also Varad and Niranjan hide their disdain for women and hence would never use Shlok type language though both have no respect for women. Shlok on the other hand is open about his disdain for women though he is the one who has no problem touching a woman's foot despite his proclamations. So his crude language is a part of that openness. If you notice, he uses words like "sweetheart, baby, madam" in a very sarcastic manner.

As far as expecting everyone in the same family to have a same style is unrealistic. You would see many families where some would appear more sophisticated and stylish than other family members because of the way they talk or dress. Also in an interview posted by someone, Avinash mentioned that he made a conscious effort to appear as different from Barun's character in IPK1 as he could so that comparisons between two characters can be avoided.

I like Shlok's character because he is not shown as a typical suave business man type character that are shown in every serial. I do not think of Avinash when I see Shlok because I have seen his character in his previous show. His character in that show was a polar opposite to Shlok in both characterization and looks. There might be some gestures that could be common to both characters, but they seem minor to me.

I feel Avinash is doing a great job as Shlok ... What is the need to compare him to the other actors??? Totally beats me ... They played their roles and Avinash plays Shlok... To perfection...

I can't comment on Sanaya & Baruns off screen antics... But I feel Avinash and Shrenu are very comfortable with each other... It's visible on and off screen...I really don't remember how many millimeters his chair was away from Shrenu's... And the break up is not a rumour... The lady in question has moved on and is dating someone else... 😊 I guess we should all just let them be... And enjoy the show..:) cheers!!

Actually in the initial few episodes director Arshad khan made him look and act like ASR. I hated his portrayal then. Waseem gave Shlok a unique identity different from Maan or Arnav.

well he is with his wife which he says will have to see his face forever so he has a certain level of comfort with her
and he likes to use that sarcastic tone with aastha
i like shlok the way he is --- dark, intense and kameena
i just hope he doesn't turn too sweet n soft cos it will kill his character
:-)

I have stated my POV.
I stand by it.
Note that I have not resorted to name-calling the actor. I have not mentioned accents (American or otherwise) nor have I remarked that home is the only place to get the 'polish' required for the role. As in other forums, I have provided constructive criticism of a lack I have noted and suggestions to improve it.
Clearly, my experience of what constitutes a well-educated, savvy businessman who has traveled a lot and dealt with national and international clients differs from that of many members.
I would still have NA be the hero any day.
He assays the concept remarkably well.
