Final week. Five episodes to go. And then it's curtains for a story that was never really told. A great love story that never really lived in the real sense. And then good bye to Dev and Chandni's relationship that was so beautifully complex. So soft and raw at the same time. But sadly it was never truly explored.
Yes. I am bitter. I am grateful to Gul and Co. for giving us Dev (Advay) and Chandni. But I am also bitter with how things have unraveled...leading us to nothing but a distorted story. Dev/Advay and Chandni deserved better. Their story deserved to be told in a far better manner.
I'm leaving the rest of my venting for my final post which will come on Friday. Yes I'm dramatic 😆 But all that I shall say on this matter is when the CVs found out that the show had to be wrapped up...they could've at least given us two weeks of beautiful, unforgettable moments. Sod logic and continuation. They should've just gone for it. But we're left with five episodes and my hopes have died.
Breaks my heart because I've been a loyal fan since episode one. Feel as though there's no point in investing time and emotions, agar anth mein yeh hona hai toh... *sigh*
But last week there was a moment that reminded me of just how magical Barun and Shivani's chemistry has been in this short span of time. I'm referring to the O Re Piya sequence, which will perhaps be forever etched in my mind. For me, that entire sequence was poetry in motion ❤️
Once again, Chandni takes charge of the moment and entices her Dev towards her. He is confused by her actions - she's dancing around him, almost like a porcelain doll that has come to life. She tells him that she is happy for him. He is getting married. But he questions her. Is she really happy? Chandni reminds him that she is happy in his happiness.
Dev tries to walk away but Chandni pulls him closer. Holding on to his waist as tightly as possible. She takes the lead and gently dances with him. At this point Dev is almost in a trance. His gaze fixed upon Chandni. His focus on every word that she utters. But this time he doesn't attempt to pull away. Chandni has his complete attention.
Holding back tears, Chandni guides her Dev. Asks him to become much softer after marriage. She tells Dev that she will show him how it's done. Chandni takes his hand and gently plants a kiss. She softly runs her hand down Dev's face, and he closes his eyes. At this point he can feel her touch, and not just physically. It's clearly visible that Chandni has stirred emotions within him. They connect on a spiritual level.
Chandni tip toes and plants another soft kiss on the side of Dev's face. And she tells him to say those three words. Those words that act as a reassurance...that you belong to someone: I Love You...
And that's it. For the first time she tells him in plain and simple words that she loves him. And Dev knows it. He knows that these aren't words of advice or guidance. This is coming straight from Chandni's heart. And as the tears start to flow, she pushes her Dev away. It isn't Dev that breaks free from her grip, she is the one to let him go. Very telling...
And THIS is what I'm going to dearly miss. Such magical chemistry that was evident from their very first meeting. And it kept on growing and growing, until it blossomed into something truly beautiful. THIS is what I shall miss...
Sad that we won't get to see Chandni heal Dev with her love. He's seen too much and has been scarred for life. But it's also a great shame that we won't get to see his redemption either. He's been through a lot and deserves to be healed by Chandni's love. But he's put his girl through hell and we won't ever see him makes amends the proper way.
And Chandni is also a victim. Kidnapped and never really loved. Shame that we won't get to see her get a proper happy ending through a track showing her own healing process. I would've loved to see Dev move heaven and earth for his Chandu. But...no.
These two are actually two very tragic individuals. Lonely, broken souls that have been wandering in the scorching heat for far too long. They deserve to find each other and rest.
Side note: Chandni has shown that anything Dev can do, she can do better. But there's one thing she can't out do Dev on and that's Haldi romance. Dev..or shall I say Advay...still has one up on her for that one...
Side note 2: Dev fixing the snow globe he smashed...just goes to show that he will do what it takes to mend things when it comes to him and Chandni. All he needs to know is the truth. Then forget Sasha and everything else. It'll just be him and his Chandu.
Side note 3: Since there's a restriction on my account, I can't make many posts. So if anyone is kind enough to read and comment...please don't think it's rude if I don't come back to comment soon. Just got my hands tied 😆
