He is neither a sociopath or a psychopath...he is a grown man who lost his parents at the age of 13. He was a child himself. Yes, he may have misunderstood Chandni ...but we have to remember that when she was 8 years old... he was 13...they were both kids.
I loved the episode...and I loved Barun's expressions. This man can emote with his eyes. It's very easy to judge someone without been in their shoes... a feeling of betrayal by a close friend can scar a persons life...he was after all a child.
His hatred for her is understandable and is justifyable under such circumstances...what won't be justifyable would be any physical assault on her...no woman deserves that...absolutely not. I can't count today's standing all night in the category because he didn't say ' remain standing'...he said, don't move from the place...she could have sat down ...couldn't she?
I am not sure why I don't feel any sympathy for Chandni ..maybe because the Ms Tomar can't emote well enough or simply because I am too much of a strong individual who is in continuous contact with battered and sexually assaulted woman ( I work at a shelter) watching them standing up and fighting to live their lives day in and out..it's almost that they want to forget the nightmare. What I can't comprehend is Chandni s lack of self awareness...in one hand she feels the pain of an orphan and in the other she has made this baby an orphan...all for her step mother who she thinks will love her back someday...well, I am sorry this is not been afraid of been abondoned...it's called moving on and accepting the reality...? She has no right to make a decision for her sister...it's not her place ...and that too for a mother who she knows doesn't care...Chandni is selfish in her own ways.
Last thought...Barun, what an actor you are! 5 long years...and you are still emoting with your eyes
