Have been reading these kind of posts.. I agree that S1 was definitely superior fare in terms of character building & story flow & just all round good feeling...
That said, I don't understand why everyone expects the heroine to be in their mold.. there are all kinds of people in this world.. some times I can't fathom why a certain person would take a particular decision or be in a particular relationship.. but I take it at face value... I don't need to relate to every family situation or watching/reading fiction to relate to every main character.. believe me then I would have to write the book myself...
I come from a huge family with both paternal/maternal sides combined to almost 170 first cousins & hugher if you consider their kids.. so I have come across so many different setups..
Believe it or not, one cousin is a 2nd wife (with 1st still very much in picture) & shares her hubby.. family threw her out.. but still I bump into her occasionally & she is fine with it.. no qualms..
one cousin daughter ran off with a rich middle aged man & lived as a mistress with him.. until she finished her studies, then they mutually agreed to move on & is now married with 2 kids...
when I was younger a colleague (comes from normal family) about my age at work was saying during high school an older man would pick her up after school & give her gifts etc for service received & he was her first.. I was flabbergasted, saying isn't that like illegal??.. but she was ok with it said he took care of her & initiated her with care..
Do I identify with any of these extreme examples no.. but I take it in stride.. as I keep saying.. her whole life Chandini yearns for belonging & will do anything for it.. I am at least glad that she is not begging for it like with Indrani rather than going the woman's route...
Pride & self respect is well and good, but if not here where will she go?? As she says she didn't pursue Advay, Dev pursued her & got married to her.. so why not make his life miserable?? If in that pursuit, her childhood friend Dev comes back to her all the better...
BTW, she still doesn't know the entire Dev family issue, she still thinks they moved away... she only knows 2 things, what she saw & she said in public because it was the truth.. and her meeting Dev at secret location, but she didn't know that she was followed... when someone is innocent, they don't think beyond what transpired...
Does this story have issues sure.. can it be better sure.. but Chandini is who Chandini is..
